Amy Farrell (Talkington) - B.S. Biology W&M 2000
After graduating from W&M, I married Brian Farrell, a chemistry major. We moved to Omaha, NE where I started graduate school and he started an MD/PhD program. I received my PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2006 and am currently a post-doc. Brian just finished his MD/PhD program. We are moving to Portland, OR in June 2008 so that he can start residency at OHSU (neurosurgery) . I will be working as a post-doc at OHSU in a signal transduction lab. We have two wonderful children, Caitlyn who is 3 years old, and Alex who is almost 4 months.

Kathyrn Flinn Kathryn Flinn - B.S. Biology and English W&M 2000
I completed a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Cornell University in 2006, and am currently an NSF International Research Fellow at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. As a plant ecologist, I am generally interested in the processes that shape patterns of plant diversity and distributions. My current research focuses on how phylogenetic structure affects community composition.

Heather Sahli - B.S. Biology W&M 2000
I received my Ph.D. at Michigan State's Kellogg Biological Station in 2006 studying natural selection by different pollinators on floral traits of wild radish. I'm now doing a postdoc at the University of Hawaii where I'm studying plant-pollinator interactions in Hawaiian ecosystems.

Russell Weaver - B.S. Biology W&M 2000
On April 7th, 2008 I returned from a six month combat deployment in Afghanistan . I was deployed in support of 3rd Special Forces Group out of Fort Bragg NC. I spent my tour traveling to the remote Special Forces Fire-bases throughout Southern Afghanistan providing general dentistry treatment for Soldiers and locals. Because of the location of my patients I was very close to enemy forces and was therefore required to act as a Soldier on several occasions defending the Fire-bases or a convoy from attack. But everything turned out fine and I am proud to have served along side some of the most professional and brave Soldiers in the world. I am also very proud to have continued the William and Mary tradition of service to our nation as a Citizen Soldier.

Kara Foshay (Legore) - B.S. Biology W&M 2002
I recently received my Ph.D. from Georgetown University ! I am now doing postdoctoral research on epigentic changes that occur during stem cell differentiation at the University of Chicago .
Marisa Guarinello Marisa Guarinello - B.S. Biology and Env. Science W&M 2002
I am working on my MS at URI's Graduate School of Oceanography . I study habitats in a coastal lagoon here in RI and am interested in ecological patterns and processes.

David DesRochers David DesRochers – M.A. Biology W&M 2003
I'm completing the fifth year of my Doctorate program in the biology department at Tufts University . I am wrapping up research investigating habitat use and nutritional ecology of the endangered Hawaiian Moorhen , an endemic rail species of the Hawaiian Islands. The rail is now found on only two islands (down from five) and still faces many threats from habitat loss and degradation and introduced predators. It's been a challenging and rewarding program, and as I write and submit my chapters for publication, I'm excited to find a post-doc. In addition to research, I recently got married last fall. My wife, Jennifer is a high school biology teacher and an environmental educator.

Melissa Mannion - B.S. Biology W&M 2004
I am graduating from EVMS MD Class of 2008 this Saturday, May 17. I am moving to Birmingham, AL to do my residency in Pediatrics at Childrens Hospital of Alabama .

Allison Markowsky - B.S. Biology W&M 2004
Allison is graduating from New York University School of Medicine on May 15th, 2008. She will be starting her residency in Pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC in June.

Ryann Fame - B.S. Biology and Chemistry W&M 2006
I am finishing my second year as a graduate student at Harvard's Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology as member of Jeff Macklis' lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. I just passed my candidacy exam proposing to study molecular controls over a specific population of excitatory projection neurons in the brain that cross the hemispheres, callosal neurons. In addition, I'm staying active in swimming, church, clarinet-playing, and have taken up rowing. Please contact me if you are ever in the Boston area and need a friend, I'm quite hospitable.

Jean Still - B.S. Biology and Environmental Science W&M 2007
I'm getting a Masters Degree in Environmental Management at the Nicholas School of Environmental Science at Duke University . My specialty is Ecosystem Science and Conservation. My interest is in Wetlands.
