More Cuban Film Events 
With memories of the 25th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana still fresh, Cuban screens are filled once again with images of the films participating in two other cinema events: the III National Exhibit of New Filmmakers and the V Festival of Documentary Films in Memory of Santiago Álvarez.
The III National Exhibit of New Filmmakers was officially inaugurated on 25 February in Charles Chaplin cinema. The films will also be exhibited in 23 & 12 theater and the Cinematographic Cultural Center . The exhibit will offer awards in four categories: fiction, documentary, animation and poster. Along with nearly 30 Cuban films participating in the official section, there will also be screenings of works from Brazil , Canada , China , Spain , the U.S. and other counties. The closing ceremony will take place on February 29 in the Charles Chaplin cinema.
The V Festival of Documentary Films in Memory of Santiago Álvarez will take place in Santiago de Cuba from 5-8 March. This international festival honors the master of Cuban documentary, Santiago Alvarez, and promotes the documentary as an important genre within cinema. In addition to the main award and three others, there will be awards in the following categories: direction, editing, sound design, photography and script. The event will include theoretical sessions and supplementary screenings.
Documentaries from the Cuban Cinema Classics initiative will be screened during this festival and Luis Enrique Prieto will share with the audience the history of CCC and his experiences collaborating with Ann Marie Stock in designing the project.
