This webquest has allowed you to explore lots of the connections available to teachers on the Internet. There are exemplary teachers in the world that can serve as role models for other teachers. Teachers can also share ideas, get advice, and learn new instructional strategies by connecting with other teachers on the Internet. The webquest serves as the starting point for your use of technology in your classroom. You have made some connections. There are indeed more connections to be made. By sharing your new knowledge with others, you have “spread the word” about the beneficial connections teachers can make on the Internet. In a sense, you have done what the character in “Miss Rumphius” did, make the world a better place. As The Miss Rumphius Award winners have served as role models for other teachers, you are now taking steps to learn from these role models, increase your knowledge, and expand the minds of other teachers and your students. You will now be able to delve deeper into the specific activities/strategies you want to use in your classroom.
