Society for the Study of Southern Literature

Southern Literature Syllabus Collection

Resources for teaching in southern literary studies, including a range of new technologies, have expanded enormously in recent years. The SSSL has been at the forefront in shaping dialogues on teaching in the field, as special conference panels on the topic and recent forums in the newsletter illustrate. The syllabi enclosed here highlight graduate and undergraduate courses on southern literature taught at a range of colleges and universities. They model interesting and innovative strategies for engaging the field's primary southern literary works, suggest new directions for southern literature, and incorporate new and more conventional work in southern studies. Please forward syllabi that you would like to share on this page c/o David Boddie at 747 Dickson St. #6, University of Arkansas Campus, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
