Overview
The 2011 Virginia Geological Field Conference will be hosted at VIMS's Eastern Shore Laboratory in Wachapreague. On Saturday, October 29 the conference will take boats from the Wachapreague lab to Cedar Island, a barrier island off the Virginia mainland. This two-thirds of a day trip will return to Wachapreague in the mid-afternoon. The conference business meeting and reception will follow the Saturday trip at the Wachapreague lab. On Sunday, October 30 there will be a 1/2 day trip to examine outcrops and drillcore from the Chesapeake Bay Impact Structure. Given the restrictions due to the number of boats available, the conference will be limited to 85 participants.
