Professor Michael A. Stein played an integral part in the committee that drafted the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and is also active on several other international projects promoting the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities. Click here to read more.

Professor Emeritus John Levy is among the contributors to a special feature in the December 2006 issue of the Virginia Lawyer titled "Reflections on the History of Legal Aid in Virginia." In an essay titled "How I Got Here" he describes his nearly forty year involvement with legal aid in the state, including the successful effort to establish the Peninsula Legal Aid Center. In Memoriam: Jim Whyte (1921-2007) The Law School community was saddened by news of the death of James P. "Jim" Whyte, 85, on January 7 in Williamsburg. He was a member of the faculty from 1958 until his retirement in 1982, and served as Dean of the Law School from 1969 to 1975. Click here to read more.

Alumni Weekend 2007 - April 13 & 14 Spring is in the air as we look forward to Alumni Weekend! Events include reunions of the Classes of '77, '82, '87, '92, '97, and '02, and a special 1st reunion celebration for our most recent grads -- the Class of '06. Last year's first Cluster Celebration, for classes that graduated in consecutive years, met with success and this year's festivities will include a Cluster Celebration for the Classes of '66, '67, and '68. February Events at Marshall-Wythe Upcoming symposia include "Mission Impossible? The Compatibility of Military and Environmental Goals" (Feb. 10). On Feb. 12 the Law School will host the annual Wythe Lecture titled "Child Welfare's Paradox" and the annual Spong Tournament is on the calendar for Feb. 16 - 17.
