Gene R. Nichol Named President-Elect of the College of William & Mary
Gene R. Nichol will succeed Timothy J. Sullivan as the 26th president of the College. Nichol, who is currently as the Dean and Burton Craige Professor at UNC School of Law, served here from 1985 to 1988 as Cutler Professor of Constitutional Law and director of the Institute of Bill of Rights Law. Professor William W. Van Alstyne to Deliver St. George Tucker Lecture on March 24
William W. Van Alstyne, the Lee Professor at William & Mary Law School, and one of the nations foremost constitutional law scholars, will deliver this years St. George Tucker Lecture. Titled Competing Visions of the Constitution: Opportunists and Obligationists, the talk will be presented at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 24, in room 127 of the Law School. Mrs. Wilson Supports Athletes and Law Students
As part of the Campaign for William & Mary, Mrs. Anne Steuart Stu Gantt Wilson is building on the legacy of her late husband - Hillsman Hilly V. Wilson '51, B.C.L. '53 - by establishing a charitable remainder trust in support of two endowments that provide financial assistance to student-athletes on the football team and scholarships at the Law School.
