BLSA Food Drive Benefits Families in Need
The annual Thanksgiving Basket Contest sponsored by the Black Law Students Association came to a close on Nov. 21. More than two dozen food baskets, hundreds of canned goods, and numerous donations for turkeys were contributed by students and staff to make the holidays a happier time for area families in need. New Tax Law Benefits Generous Donors
The Katrina Emergency Tax Relief Act of 2005 (KETRA), recently signed into law, provides special incentives for those who make charitable gifts of cash by year end. The new bill temporarily suspends the 50 percent income limitation on deductions for cash gifts made between Aug. 28, 2005, and Dec. 31, 2005, to qualified charitable organizations, including William & Mary.  Click here to read the story.  Story reprinted with permission from Momentum, a publication of The Campaign for William and Mary.
