Senator Marsh, a graduate of Virginia Union who received his law degree from Howard University, has always had a passion for Civil Rights Law. After meeting Oliver W. Hill as a Senior at VUU, he was further inspired to make a difference. He worked diligently against Virginia’s massive resistance to school integration. Senator Marsh was also the first African-American to be elected mayor of Richmond in 1977. Senator Marsh who is currently serving as a Senator for the 16th district of Virginia, has been a senator since 1992. Senator Marsh continues to be a force for social justice and political change. |
