The Law School awarded $256,000 in public service fellowships to 90 students, who will work for 72 organizations in 19 states, the District of Columbia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, and Myanmar during summer 2005. The amount of funding, the number of students, and the number of organizations are records for the Law School.
These results have been made possible by the Law School’s significant support; federal work/study matching funds; grants from the Virginia Law Foundation, the Virginia State Bar's Criminal Law Section, and the College of William & Mary’s Christopher Wren Association; the extremely hard work of the law students’ Public Service Fund (which awarded more than $40,000, also a record); our alumni; and the Office of Career Services’ law firm Public Service Partners.
