Ronald H. Rosenberg, Professor of Law at the William & Mary Law School, will present the 2006-07 St. George Tucker Lecture on Tuesday, March 20, at 3:30 PM in room 119 of the Law School. His lecture is titled “Renewable Energy in America's Future - Is One Answer Blowing in the Wind? The Case for Wind Power.” The event is free and all are welcome.

Recent environmental, economic, and security developments have reawakened interest across the county in renewable forms of energy. In his lecture, Rosenberg will take an in-depth look at wind power as an alternative source of electricity. While wind power offers the advantages of zero fuel costs and zero green house gas and other air emissions, says Rosenberg, there are also potentially negative features that must be considered. In his presentation he will discuss the pros and cons of wind power development and also will explore the importance of renewable forms of energy in America’s future energy mix.

Rosenberg is Professor of Law and the Director of the American Legal System Graduate Program and Foreign Exchanges at the William & Mary Law School. He is a frequent speaker on environmental law and property issues and has lectured in China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Taiwan as a Fulbright Senior Fellow. He is author of Controversies in Constitutional Law – Evolution of the Law of Takings and is co-author of Environmental Policy Law and Problems in Environmental Law. His articles have appeared in numerous law reviews and he serves as General Editor of Virginia Local Government Law.

Professor Rosenberg has served as Chair and member of numerous American Bar Association committees including, the Local Government Law Committee; Section of Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Laws; Committee on Environmental Law; and the Professionalism Committee of the Section of Legal Education and Admission to the Bar. Prior to entering academia, he served on the legal staff of the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. Professor Rosenberg received his B.A. at Columbia University and his J.D. and M.R.P. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
