Levy and Scott to be Honored at June 1 Legal Aid Celebration

Chancellor Professor of Law Emeritus John Levy and Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott, co-founder and founding president, respectively, of the Peninsula Legal Aid Center, will be honored for their lifetime contributions to Legal Aid at a June 1 benefit reception at the Law School, hosted by the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia. The Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia (LASEV) is hosting a benefit reception at William & Mary Law School on Friday, June 1, at 5:30 p.m.
Congressman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott and William & Mary Chancellor Professor of Law Emeritus John Levy, co-founder and founding president, respectively, of the Peninsula Legal Aid Center, will be honored for their lifetime contributions to Legal Aid at the event.
William & Mary College President Gene R. Nichol is the evening’s special guest speaker.
LASEV is a nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services to low or moderate income citizens of Hampton Roads, the Peninsula, middle Peninsula, Williamsburg, and the Eastern Shore. The organization was created from the recent merger of the Tidewater Legal Aid Society and the Peninsula Legal Aid Center.
Attendees are asked to RSVP and are encouraged to make a tax-deductible donation to support LASEV’s work.
The reception is the second phase of LASEV’s year-long 40th Anniversary Campaign which will culminate with an awards ceremony and banquet in October 2007.
