Learning Creek
There is no substitute for a Creek teacher. Creek classes are currently taught at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee, and in community classes in Oklahoma.
A dictionary helps. Martin and Mauldin's A Dictionary of Creek/Muskogee, with notes on the Florida and Oklahoma Seminole Dialects of Creek (University of Nebraska Press, 2000) is available through amazon.com and University of Nebraska Press.
Linda Alexander, Bertha Tilkens, and Pamela Innes have a textbook available from University of Oklahoma Press. It's called Beginning Creek: Mvskoke Emponvkv.
Margaret Mauldin, Jack Martin, and Gloria McCarty have also been working on a textbook, available here in PDF format. The files are large! Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
A number of individuals have also published recordings and booklets. Some of these are available from the Creek Council House Museum's Red Stick Gallery or from Various Indian Peoples Publishing Co.
