CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF MUSCARELLE
The fall of 2007 marked an exciting milestone for the Muscarelle Museum of Art, as we proudly unveiled our new logo. Vibrant, impactful, and instantly recognizable, the design of the logo encapsulates the Museum's central place in our cultural community. We at the Museum have always been proud to highlight artistic masterpieces from our collection, and from around the world. Yet the Museum is more than a mere "showroom." It is a place where anyone can come to experience the transformative power of art. The simple lines of the cubic form represent the exterior of our museum - a strong structure that holds within it the promise of rich and unforgettable cultural experiences.
The interior of the cube is flooded with a vibrant yellow, suggesting the energetic, enlightening environment that envelopes every visitor to the Muscarelle Museum of Art. Furthermore, the transparent letterforms represent the unique perspective that the Muscarelle brings to each exhibition or piece of art displayed within. Our goal is to create an environment where our visitors can truly connect with art - intellectually and emotionally. Our new logo is an eloquent visual expression of that mission. CDG Interactive, out of Washington, D.C. is the creative agency behind developing the new brand. Their innovative approach continues to permeate the developing aspects of the new Museum brand as the Museum staff explores new publications and medias.
