LECTURE:
David Dalton
Andy Warhol’s Factory, A Photographic Experience
Wednesday, October 14, 6:00 PM, W&M Sadler Center

David Dalton, one of Andy Warhol's first assistants with his early Pop art paintings, will speak about world famous photographer Nat Finkelstein's never-before-seen images of Warhol’s Factory studio while leading the audience through a visual summary of his stay in the most famous studio of modern art. He will talk about images included in the Finkelstein exhibition and other images only being shown during his talk.

Dalton has written extensively on art, including A Year in the Life of Andy Warhol (with photographs by David McCabe); Andy Warhol: Giant Size (two essays on the origins of Warhol's art); and Painting Below Zero: Notes on a Life in Art, the memoir of James Rosenquist. A founding editor of Rolling Stone and a writer on pop culture, Dalton is the author of some fifteen books, including El Sid: Saint Vicious; Mr. Mojo Risin': Jim Morrison, the Last Holy Fool; James Dean: The Mutant King; the award-winning Faithfull (with Marianne Faithfull); and a novel, Been Here and Gone. He lives in upstate New York with his wife, the painter Coco Pekelis.
