Tactile Tour Program
The Muscarelle Museum of Art is proud to announce an enhanced exhibition tour now available using the sense of touch to explore paintings. The use of art is a powerful tool for developing the brain, for healing, for communication, and for making richer experiences in life, but much of art is a visual experience. The Tactile Tour Program is designed to provide art experiences to a very special audience, for people who are blind and persons with low vision.
In recognition of Disability Awareness Month, the Museum will be kicking off this tactile program with a series of Saturday tours in October. Beginning October 3rd, and running throughout the month of October the Muscarelle Museum of Art will be giving tactile tours every Saturday, from 12 – 4. After October, tours can be made by appointment by calling 757.221.2703 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
