MUSCARELLE VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS


Docents - The Docents are dedicated to extending the mission of the Museum as an institution devoted to arts education in the community and throughout the region. Through training and research, docents develop and present tours and other educational initiatives that lead to a better understanding of the permanent collection and special exhibitions.

Friends of the Muscarelle Museum of Art -The purpose of the Friends of the Muscarelle Museum of Art is to broaden the influence of the Muscarelle Museum throughout the community by supporting its activities and promoting its interests in ways determined by the Friends, with the approval of the Director.

Ambassadors - The ArtReach Ambassadors are specially trained Docents and Friends who work with the Museum collection not on display to teach and build understanding of art to the public, both in the community and school systems.

All non-student volunteers must be members of the Museum.

STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

The Museum enjoys supporting and working with many student organizations who volunteer directly for the museum, or work closely with professional staff members.

MUSE - Museum-University Student Exchange - Members of MUSE are student volunteers who promote campus-wide awareness and appreciation of the visuals arts and the cultural role of museums; who promote and recruit student community involvement for the Muscarelle Museum of Art and its functions.

WaMAC - William & Mary Arts Collaborative - WaMAC is a student organization devoted to the professional development of The College's student artists and future arts professionals.

Tangelo - Studio Arts Group - Tangelo is a collaborative of students working to develop their crafts in studio fields, such as drawing, ceramincs, painting and printmaking.
