Dr. Peter M. Vishton, Ph.D.

Peter Vishton is an Associate Professor at the College of William and Mary.  He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1996.  He has taught at Amherst College, Dartmouth College, and Northwestern University; he has also served as the Program Director for Developmental and Learning Sciences at the National Science Foundation. His research interests include cognitive, perceptual and motor development, as well as the interaction of vision and action systems.  His research focuses mainly on visually-controlled actions, such as reaching.  .

Natalie Brito, B.A.
Graduate Research Assistant
 
Natalie is a graduate student in the psychology department at W&M.  She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and majored in psychology.  When she is not stuck in Millington or Bell, Natalie can be found at the beach or out playing sports. She enjoys working with children and hopes to pursue a doctorate degree in developmental psychology.
Heather Guiffre, B.A.

Heather Guiffre is a graduate of Christopher Newport University. She received her Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies and Philosophy. Heathers research interests include areas of developmental, health, evolutionary, and applied psychology. Heather enjoys camping and other outdoor activities. She is planning a camping trip for this fall. In the future, Heather plans to earn a Ph.D in psychology, and possibly attain a professorship at a local university.
Betsy Finch
Research Assistant
 
Betsy Finch is a senior from Virginia.  She is majoring in Neuroscience and is pursuing a minor in Art and Art History.  Betsy is the chair of the campus organization CARES: Collegiate Awareness Regarding Eating Smart and is actively involved in a campus sorority as a committee chair.  She enjoys doing art, especially painting.  
Sarah Morra
Research Assistant
 
Sarah Morra is a senior from New Jersey.  She is the middle child and has two brothers.  She majors in psychology and minors in marketing.  She loves sports, and enjoys goes skiing every year in Utah with her family.  She plays on the club volleyball team and is a member of a sorority on campus.  She was an Orientation Aide for the college for two years and a student mentor.  She spent her last semester studying in Florence (and loved it).  She loves to travel and was able to visit many countries across Europe.  She is unsure of her plans after college but hopes to work in the business world and perhaps get an MBA after a few years.
Kate Brunick
Research Assistant
 
Kate Brunick is a junior from Virginia Beach.  She is a double major in psychology and linguistics.  Kate is a Monroe Scholar at the College and is currently working on size perception research.  Outside academics, she enjoys taking part in campus theatre (recently acting in Right Hand Man and producing Tragedy! A Musical Comedy) and swing dancing with the W&M Swing Club.  Kate plans to continue to graduate school to pursue her research interests in developmental psychology and language acquisition.
Carrie Palmquist
Research Assistant
 
Carrie Palmquist is a senior from Falls Church, VA.  She is majoring in Psychology and is pursuing a minor in Religious Studies.  On campus, Carrie is involved in a service fraternity, an honor fraternity, works in the campus linguistics laboratory and acts as an Orientation Aide for incoming freshman.  She loves knitting, playing with kids and the Washington Redskins.  After college, Carrie plans to attend graduate school and explore her interests in developmental psychology, specifically childrens acquisition and use of language.
