DuPont Hall, opened in 1964 is named after Jessie Ball duPont, benefactress of the college and daughter of Thomas Ball, an alumnus, is the largest of all the first year halls. It is coed and
offers the student a diverse freshman experience. The center of DuPont
life is the main foyer, called "The Pit" which has a ping pong table and air hockey. It is both a prime meeting place
and a great "hang-out" spot. DuPont is located near the New Campus academic
buildings as well as the Rec. Center and the Dining Commons (a.k.a. "The
Caf"). DuPont's 264 first-year residents are divided into 8 wings on 3
floors. Two lounges are available on each floor and are often designated as social or study lounges by Hall Council.. All wings are single
gender and house one upper class Resident Assistant. One of the best features
of DuPont is that the rooms are arranged in suites with 4 students sharing
1 bathroom. Laundry rooms are located on the 2nd floor and each floor
lounge has a small kitchenette along with a large/full size kitchen in the basement. Scroll below for views of the room and
building amenities. |
