Transcript for Cues & Communication Module

RUSTY

This just in Chip, I heard there was some miscommunication down in the players’ club house.

CHIP

Oh my, it seems like I’m getting it to, if they don’t fix this communication misunderstanding, I don’t know if they’ll be able to have another winning season together.

RUSTY

Well, let’s see if we can’t get some cameras down there right away to find out just what is going on.

MUSIC

[Happens all the time, happens every day, lost in conversation, take things the wrong way.  Before you know it, the happiness is gone, we can buy words and add ‘em up strong]

GIRL

Oh – it’s the bar, I know…but…

[Friends and lovers, tangled up in knots, try to be what they think they lack. ]

GIRL

I have an idea, wait, I have an idea.

[And abandon what they’ve got]

BOY

Hold on, we need to talk.

SHARUQ

Whoa, things are really heating up, let’s get a listen…

BOY

Um…I’m not really sure what your intentions are.

GIRL

Oh, well, you know, it’s just, I thought, we could take things to the next level, we’re in college, that’s normally what we do.

BOY

I mean, yeah we’re in college, but just because we’re in college doesn’t mean we have to do things that people think are typical, because it’s between us.

GIRL

I understand its ok; I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable.

BOY

How do you feel?

GIRL

Well, I feel like we should take this relationship at a pace that we both want to go, and I feel like right now, that’s your pace.  I think that by taking it slow, we’ll get more out of this relationship anyways.

BOY

[sighs relieved] That’s exactly how I feel, Maria.

GIRL

I’m glad.

[Musical Interlude]

SHARUQ

That was a great result, down on the play, take it back at the studio, guys.

CHIP

Well, thank you Sharuq for that emotional analysis of the situation.  Rusty, what have we learned today?

RUSTY

Well, we saw a lot of great tactics from both players on the field, Chip, both Maria and Alex used great powerized statements in discussing their feelings about the event and you also noticed Alex was very wise not to be swayed by some of the usual lines that Maria was throwing at him.

CHIP

That’s true, and another thing that Alex did very well, was to ask open-ended questions, good for him to ask that, but also good for Maria so that she could talk about how she felt about the situation.

RUSTY

Absolutely, Chip, you know I’ve been covering this business for a long time and I’ve found that whenever two players state clearly and openly what they want and need, they find success both with each other in the club house and out there on the field as well.

CHIP

Good communication in the club house, translates to good performance on the field.  For Rusty, I’m Chip, thanks for watching.
