Actively composing. Choral setting of "To a Locomotive in Winter" premiered by the Oregon Repertory Singers on July 6, 2002, at the Oregon Bach Festival. Three settings of text "From the Odes of Solomon" premiered by the Ars Brunensis Chorus on June 2, 2002, in Brno, Czech Republic. Also attended Adirondack Festival of American Music, where my choral compositions received readings by the Gregg Smith Singers in 2000 and 2001. Chris and Elizabeth Dyer were finally married on January 15, 2000 (after a record six year engagement!). The ceremony included choir alum Lisa Jirousek (Alto II, '95) as the maid of honor, and Robert David (Tenor II, '96) as a groomsman. Music in the ceremony included Set Me as a Seal, sung by our own singing group Voces Dei (with help from choir alum!) and the Hallelujah Chorus as the recessional. Original compositions by Chris and Elizabeth were also included as musical gifts from bride to groom and vice versa. We are both anticipating graduation in May (Elizabeth with her Master's in composition, Chris with his MD) and will be moving on to the next stop on the education superhighway- Internal Medicine residency for Chris, a doctoral degree for Elizabeth - come June.
