President
Kati "Geldermoney" Geldermann
kfgeld@wm.edu
Hometown: Herndon, VA
Voice Part: Alto II
Year: Senior
Major: History
In her own words: The W&M Choir is an organization unlike any other; I can't think of a more loving, eccentric, just plain FUN group of people to be with, and I know without a doubt that the "Kwah" will be the one thing I miss the most about college when I have to leave. I feel extremely privileged to be serving as an officer again, and I am beyond excited about all that this year has in store for us.
Why she loves the choir:
70 fantastic friends, amazing music, and no lack of fun times. : )
Other Campus Activities:
Catholic Campus Ministry (Fellowship Team- Freshman outreach), IM Sports (nearly all of them!), and SFL.

Vice President
Jessica Thurnes, '09
jrthur@wm.edu
Hometown: Newport News, VA
Voice Part: Alto 1
Year: Junior
Major: Religious Studies
In her own words: I might have been crazy to run for VP...here's to hoping this isn't the year they conclude that the choir has won too many homecoming parades and decide to award top prize to someone else.
Why she loves the choir: Apparently, I love choir a lot...just ask anyone who saw me cry during elections last year. Seriously, choir is great people and great singing and I wouldn't have college any other way. Plus, we get to go on international tour!
Other Campus Activities:
Phi Sigma Pi (which isn't a sorority, it's an honors fraternity. Not that there's anything wrong with sororities). Choir is way better than PSP. But don't tell them that.

Recording Secretary
Chris Hansen, '10
crhans@wm.edu
Hometown: Potomac Falls, VA
Voice Part: Tenor II
Year: Sophomore
Major: History, Hispanic Studies
In his own words: Knowing that Recording Secretary is a position traditionally reserved for a female senior in kwah, I was shocked when I was nominated last year. Actually...I thought someone was playing a cruel joke on me (which wouldn’t be the first time in my experience in Choir). Despite my initial bafflement (yes, it’s a word), I am elated to serve as this year’s Kwah Hottie.
Why he loves the Choir: The Choir was the first group to make me feel welcome when I arrived at W&M a year ago. Dropping my freshman seminar entitled "Hollywood & The Red Scare" so I could join Choir was truly the best decision I have made here. Although I may not know much about McCarthyism, I do know 70 of the most talented people on campus (because they’re all in Choir).
Other Campus Activities: Young Life, Pointe Blank, NIAHD

Librarian
Lindsey Hayes, '09
lehaye@wm.edu
Hometown: Williamsport, MD
Voice Part: Alto 1
Year: Junior
Major: American Studies/Music
In her own words: Take care of your music and folder or I'll eat you
Why she loves the choir:
The W&M Choir is hands-down the most talented, fun, crazy, brilliant, loving, and amazing group of people I have ever had the privilege of spending 6 hours a week with. Of course you quickly learn when you're in Choir that six hours a week is just the bare minimum. We eat together, play frisbee together, drive each other to the airport, bake each other cookies, win IM championships together (woot! do I hear B bracket this year?), and a lot of us even live together. The Choir amazes me every day and I don't know what I'd do without their love and support. Oh yeah, we sing too . . . I almost forgot about that . . .

Fundraising Chair
Brent Schultheis, '08
bjschu@wm.edu
Hometown: Midlothian, VA
Voice Part: Bass I
Year: Senior
Major: Government
In his own words: God creates dinosaurs, God destroys dinosaurs. God creates Man, Man destroys God, Man creates dinosaurs.
Why he loves the choir:
In a word, Choir has been the singular most fun experience W&M has offered me. Ok, maybe slightly more than 1 word. But more importantly, during that time when I could've been learning to count words, I have instead been creating great music and greater friendships with these incredible people. Now there's a word for you.
Other Campus Activities:APO, the Student Mentor Program, and the W&M Bedfellows (on-campus Comedie Troupe)

Fundraising Chair
Faith Bland, '08
fespen@wm.edu
Hometown: Lake Anna, VA
Voice Part: Soprano I
Year: Senior
Major: Marketing
Why she loves the choir:
I love this choir because every member shows such devotion not only to the beautiful music that we produce but also to each other. This choir has given me a musical outlet as well as a social network of love and support unlike any other.
Other Campus Activities:
UBSA (Undergraduate Business Student Association) - Advertising Committee, Parking Appeals Committee |
Social Chair
Mike Blaakman, '09
mablaa@wm.edu
Hometown: Fairport, NY
Voice Part: Bass 1
Year: Junior
Major: History and Religious Studies
In his own words: Katherine and I have the best jobs in Choir. Our sole duty is to make everybody have fun, and we are both skilled in the ways of coercion. Resistance is futile.
Why he loves the choir:
Choir represents, quite possibly, the coolest group of people on the planet. . . .Okay, so maybe that's false. Some of us are pretty darn uncool. But the cool part about all that is that we rejoice in our individual uncoolness which, in turn, makes us collectively cool. Right? Right. Seriously--Choir was the first group to welcome me to campus and has been my family ever since. This organization is absolutely saturated with the most loving, interesting, and accepting people around. Aaaaaaaand the music is great, too. Choir is the perfect group to join and to devote one's self to, and has been the best part of my time at William and Mary.
Other Campus Activities: DoubleTake, Tour guide at the Wren Building, various endeavors in the research departments of Colonial Williamsburg, student assistant to David L. Holmes, co-coordinator of a service trip to Nicaragua, my own random history research projects.

Social Chair
Katherine Rubida, '09
karubi@wm.edu
Hometown: Arlington, VA
Voice Part: Alto I
Year: Junior
Major: Women's Studies and Government
In her own words:
As Choir Social Chair this year, I get the privilege of making new members feel welcome while radiating Kwah Love far and wide among the returning ones, not to mention the fact that Mike and I also get to pick the candy we throw out during every single rehearsal.
Why she loves the choir:
I am constantly amazed by the fact that such a varying group of dynamic, intelligent, and talented people can all come together and become instant friends while making lovely, lovely music.
Other Campus Activities:
DoubleTake co-ed a cappella, Botetourt Chamber Singers, Sinfonicron Light Opera Company, Delta Omicron

Historian
Colleen Kennedy, '10
cmkenn@wm.edu
Hometown: Virginia Beach, VA
Voice Part: Soprano II
Year: Sophomore
Major: Psychology and probably something else (to be determined...)
Why she loves the choir:
The choir is one of my favorite groups of people on campus, hands down. Why? Because there's an irrepressible, contagious energy that emanates from this amazing group of 70 people, even through hours of rehearsal, performances, and overexposure to fellow choir members. We never lose our sense of the ridiculous, and we love to have fun. And, most importantly, a common cause brought us together in the first place and continues to bind us. We're all passionate about the music, and we wouldn't give it up for anything.
Other Campus Activities: Phi Sigma Pi, Tribe Ambassadors, Matthew Whaley Elementary Tutor, Orientation Aide

pdcarl@wm.edu
Hometown: Herndon, VA
Voice Part: Bass II
Year: Junior
Major: Math
In his own words:
Cherghal freagmapilis pilk ropminklestein verc brettle.
Why he loves the choir:
There's something about sitting in a hot room crammed with 70 other people in an ancient building with a (by all
accounts) clinically insane man waving a stick at me for 2 hours on a Friday afternoon that just makes me want to get up and sing.
Other Campus Activities:
Sitting around doing nothing. Watching movies.

Wardrobe Manager
Larisa Cicila, '09
lncici@wm.edu
Hometown: Perrysburg, OH
Voice Part: Alto I
Year: Junior
Major: Women's Studies and Psychology
Why she loves the choir:
I sincerely love this choir because of all of the people that make up this organzation so dear to my heart and that makes me laugh constantly, keeps me sane, always are there for me and lets me do something I love so dearly: sing my little heart out.
Other Campus Activities:
S.O.A.P, a part-time VOX member, watching entirely too much reality television
|
Wardrobe Manager
Kate Hibbs, '10
kphibb@wm.edu
Hometown: Chicago, IL

Recording Producer
Rob Landicho, '08
rrland@wm.edu
Hometown: Edison, NJ
Voice Part: Tenor I
Year: Senior

Why he loves the choir: we often do challenging music and arrangements that push your voice differently than other groups. We are also a very committed and tight knit group that gets to partake in many different school events that otherwise go under the radar at the college.
Other Campus Activities: Stairwells, Bots, FASA, Wrestling/Jiu-jitsu, soccer, research
|
Stage Manager
Kristan Jackson, '11
kejack@wm.edu
Hometown: Richmond, VA
Voice Part: Soprano I
Year: Sophomore (!)
Major: History & Psychology
Why she loves the choir: I love how 70 people can get together and make beautiful music but also be crazy and ridiculous and have a ton of fun! I already feel like a part of the choir family and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings.

|
Stage Manager
Cory Chapman, '11
cmchapman@wm.edu

Voice Part: Bass II
Year: Freshman
Major: Don't make me choose!
In his own words: I get the profound joy of carting around your risers to and from performances...so a little help?....please? (Kristan will make you baked goods!)
Why he loves the choir: The W&M Choir is the strangest organization I’ve ever been involved with. No contest... It’s full of loud shouting, multiple types of sighing, weird stretches, awesome people and a spectacular (and hilarious) director.
Other Campus Activities: One Accord, BCM, meddling, spending more time singing than sleeping, discussing political philosophy with semi-lucid insomniacs.

Newsletter... Person
Joe Hinkley
jwhink@wm.edu
Hometown: Charleston, Me
Voice Part: Bass II
Year: Senior
Major: History/Math
In his own words: ...
Why he loves the choir: I've enjoyed it almost since the moment I joined. I know a
lot of people say this, but it really is like a huge family. The times spent with these people, in and
outside of choir, have been amazing. The friendships and great memories I've had will be sure to last a
lifetime... and I still have more than two years of new friendships and great experiences to go. I can't
imagine what life at this college would have been like without choir. Oh, and going to Europe with the
choir was pretty amazing too.
Other Campus Activities: Choir's pretty much it for the moment.

Major:Computer Science/Music
In my own words: There are a lot of words, but I've never had the pleasure of making any my own. In someone else's? I need to give this site a makeover.
Why I love the choir: Choir is my family on campus. Such a strong connection between
people is nothing to be taken lightly, and the Choir doesn't take our connection lightly at all.
Best source of services (rides, running buddies, etc.) ever.
Other Campus Activities: Canterbury, Delta Omicron, Sinfonicron,
