Mary Mcloud Bethune
Soror Bethune was active in the struggle against racism and served as an unofficial advisor to President Roosevelt. She founded the Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Florida where recently a bronze statue was erected in her honor and unveiled Ocotober 2nd 2004.

Selma Burke
Soror Burke is a famous sculptor and is best known for her design of the President Roosevelt bust (appears on the U.S. dime).

Soror Cosby is an entrepreneur and philanthropist and has, along with her husband Bill Cosby, been very involved in the funding of black colleges.

Soror Dunlap broke a 68 year barrier by becoming the first African American Miss Florida. She also holds the distinction of being Miss America 2004.

Soror Giovanni is a famous poet (“Ego Tripping” is one of her great works) and recording artist. She is also known for her activism. 

Paula Giddings
Soror Giddings did an excellent job of researching the history of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her work is compiled in a very informative book that she authored - In Search of Sisterhood. Also, she completed a biography of the anti-lynching crusader Ida B. Wells.

Soror Dr. Betty Shabazz was the director of communications and public relations for Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York. She is widely recognized as the widow of Malcolm X.
