Michael Blaakman

Name: Michael Blaakman

Year: Junior

Major: History and Religion

Voice: Tenor/Baritone

In 2005, Michael left the frigid and uninspiring landscape of Upstate New York's Rochesterian suburbia, opting instead for the polite society of the College in Williamsburg He has not regretted an instant of it, and passes his time there in myriad ways: Michael sings not only with DoubleTake but also with the Choir, he gives tours of the Wren Building as a member of the Spotswood Society, he is an intern in Colonial Williamsburg's Department of Architectural Research, and is student assistant to the most illustrious, oft revered, and occasionally daft David L. Holmes, Walter G. Mason Professor of Religious Studies. Michael hopes and dreams to someday see Angela Lansbury in attendance at a DoubleTake performance.

Fun Fact: Michael recently introduced Mr. Holmes to the universe of apples and peanut butter--specifically, as they are marketed in prepackaged cups at "WaWa." It seems to have changed Mr. Holmes' life.
