Formal Recruitment for sororities at William & Mary takes place in the beginning of September and is run by the Panhellenic Council. Potential new members visit all ten houses during the first round of recruitment, and as the rounds progress, potential members are able to rank the houses they would like to visit again. At the end, potential new members submit their preferences and the Panhellenic Council matches them with a house.
