Emily Powell: Co-President in charge of
Finances
Year: 2009 Major: Accounting
Favorite Color: Green and Gold! Candy: Take 5
Best Class You’ve
Ever Taken:
Ropes course facilitation without a doubt. Any time you
can hang out with Randy Drake up 40 feet in the air and practice repelling is a
great time. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has taken adventure
games!
Best HCO Memory:
So many up to choose from…I think it would probably be
the Halloween party in the Casa my freshman year. I was dressed up like a
dinosaur, and I danced the night away with most of HCO. (Including Pam Sertzen who was dressed like a Capoeira
fighter and kept butt-bumping my dino tail)
Why did you join HCO?
I was always the lil gringita in Spanish club in high school, and I definitely
did not want my language skills to die in College. I actually met the girl who
would become my hermana at the student activities
fair, and we clicked off the bat. After going to cena
a few times and making my first solid friends of college while in the club, I
knew this was my thing.

Ale Domestici:
Historian
Year: 2010 Major: History
Favorite Color: Blue Candy: Dark Choc./Gummy bears
Best Class You’ve
Ever Taken:
Intro to literary and cultural studies. I added it the
last day of registration at the last possible moment just because I needed
credits and it turned out to be about vampires. We had to watch all these vampire
movies, starting with the 1920s Nosferatu and the
professor even showed Rocky Horror Picture Show in class. Weird…but
a really fun class.
Best HCO Memory:
Freshman year, making the
homecoming parade banner. Emily made a Sea Monkey King and I tried to destroy
it/ leave it off the banner…it defines our relationship.
*Note from the webmistress:
Long live the Sea Monkey King*
Why did you join HCO?
I was in a club in high school called Latinas Con Fuerza which didn’t really do much, so I hoped that this
Hispanic-themed club would be more active, and I was right. I really liked how
HCO was not solely for people of Hispanic descent but open to everyone to teach
the campus about Hispanic culture.

Best Class You’ve Ever Taken: Global

Because Hispanics are awesome.
