The Purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture and God's purposes in the world.

IVCF at William and Mary is passionate about encouraging and equipping students at the finest small public university to proclaim the Gospel in every aspect of their lives. Founded in 1963 by a chemistry and a biology professor, IV has reached generation after generations of students that have gone to impact the global community, from finance to the sciences to the Church. The chapter gathers for weekly large group worship in the largest classroom on campus, while small group Bible studies led by Upperclassmen foster community in every Freshman dorm. IV members are involved in significant outreach to the campus and the surrounding community through evangelism and service, while also learning to engage with global issues by partnering with ministries such as World Vision and International Justice Mission.
