Event_Report: Hampden-Sydney hosted the rugby team's "B-Side". We used this opportunity to start a lot of our new players and to get them some experience with the game of rugby. Hampden-Sydney played their best players, so it was a competitive match. We lost by two trys, but we scored three times and many new players showed marked improvement by the end of the match.

Highlights: Paul Charbonnet and Bobby Coffey collaborated on an excellent backline try that was started by a deep kick to open space by Bobby, assisted by a one-hop running kick by Paul into the try zone, and was then scored by Bobby Coffey who ran down the ball before Hampden-Sydney could secure it. On defense, our captain Dustin Dunbar made some impressive hits, including one tackle that brought two Hampden-Sydney players down at once. Also, one of our new players, Jon Lee, stepped up and made some solid defensive plays.  Every new player made significant contributions to the effort.

Injuries: Sean Dalton was injured by a blow to the head. He had mild concussion symptoms and recieved stitches above the eyebrow.

Additional_Comments: The match was very successful and was a step forward in developing our new players. Our on the field leadership was impressive with new captains and officers. This weekend proved that the upcoming calendar year is off to a good start.
