Match Recap:

We played a great match versus the VRU DIII champions.  The entire team contributed to this dominating effort that would have been higher scoring if not for a few unlucky penalties.  There was less than five minutes spent on our half.  The back line was impressive, running around, over, and through the defense to the try-zone.  The forwards squelched ODU's pod-running game, the basis of their offense.  This year's hard work paid off and we have reason to celebrate.

Tribe Rugby,
     For all those not at the match, this Saturday we beat ODU 31-7. The game play was almost exclusivley in their half of the field- they hardly had the ball. Our scrum pushed them back and popped them up- stealing plenty of balls. Our jumpers flew on our lineouts consistantly stealing their throws. In the back line our kicking game, our  varied running lanes and our ever present overlap bewildered their flat-footed static backs.  Also, last weekend ODU beat Longwood in the Virginia D-III championship by 3 points. Our match caps a successful season in that we broke out of our league, played more competitive teams and proved ourselves better than the competition we left behind. Congratulations, next weekend we'll celebrate the season.
