Just fyi for anyone that is looking here, meetings are still Mondays, 8-9 pm, in Millington 119. Also, as this website tends not to be updated often (though we are working on fixing that) accurate information can usually be found (or someone that can answer your questions) on the Facebook group. We will update this website very, very soon. Really. Meetings are still Mondays, 8-9 pm, in Millington 119. Be there!

We have recently held Officer Elections, and while Kelly Creed has stayed on as treasurer, and Matt Fuller as Events Coordinator, Aaron Fallon is the new President, and Rachel Patterson is the new Vice President.

Well, it's been five years since this site has been updated, and a lot has happened. We have grown exponentially over the last 5 years, and the people who formed this club have long since graduated. Let me tell you the story of what's happened in the past five years...
The first huge change came when former president Danny Mazzeo arrived at the club. He had a vision of actually holding metal concerts at W&M. Together with his officers at the time, especially Martin Waldman, he doggedly persued the late-night activities fund and UCAB as well as his own fundraisers to raise the money necessary to start having concerts at W&M.
These first concerts featured rudimentary sound and very, very underground bands - sometimes even student bands. At first, they were not very well recieved, but over time word of the club spread. With each passing semester, the concerts became better in quality and had greater turnout. After a 3 year stint, as concert organizers, Danny and Marti graduated. With this, the torch was passed to a new generation. This included, for the first time ever, more girls than guys as officers. The new officers were Alex Gade, Kristie Dorfler, Kelly Creed and the only male, Matt Fuller.
This past semester, the Metal Club recieved more signups at the Student Activities Fair than it had ever recieved before. The listserv now contains well over 100 members, and the concerts have continued to rock, with bigger and better things planned this semester than ever before. And all the while, we have not updated this website even once. Some things that should not have been lost, were lost - it's very existence was forgotten. Until, one day, a band's agent brought it to the attention of Matt Fuller and it was decided, with the help of expert webmaster Luke VanderHart, that this website would become functional again.
As time goes on, we'll update each successive page, to bring the whole site up to date, and clean up the ugly relics of paleolithic code. Our plans include adding pictures of past concerts, having links to websites of bands that have played at concerts, maintaining a list of local concerts that are playing in the region on a monthly basis, and giving bands that find this website a way to contact the officers - and actually having a FAQ page.
With the Gods of Metal on our side, we will prevail!

Well, it's been a summer filled with ups and downs. Ozzfest being moved around because of Sharon's cancer (by the way, Ozzy himself said that if she was going to lose her hair, he was shaving his with her--good man, that Ozzy). New albums being made. And just general summertime goodness.
There are going to be a few changes this upcoming year. Most noticeably, Jeremy's hair. After that, the disappearance of Aaron. New shows and bands. The possibility of T-shirts. And a whole lot of other goodies just so you'll give us a few bucks and be a member. School starts in one month (well, at least move-in), so tell any friends that might be interested. We're going for a booth at the Activities fair, so come on out to that. We'll decided about regularly scheduled meetings before the Fair, so we'll do at least a half-ass job on the club this year. I'm thinking we could use some stickers for the fair. Everyone loves stickers. So, if you know someone who could give us the hook-up, email me.
Anyway, most everyone in Metal Club went to the GWAR show back in January. Well, it seems that they've released some footage from that show (at least as far as I can tell and remember, it's from that show). I just happened to get my hands on it, and I'm uploading it to the site as I type. It's in the Features section. You'll need Quicktime to play it (not sure about the version, just get the newest one if it doesn't work).
That's about it for now. See you guys in a month!

There haven't been many changes to the site lately due to my laziness and classes. But, the year is coming to a close. We had our first concert with Metal Club's own Broken English. Some other guys were there, but as they weren't Broken English, who gives a shit?
We still meet at the German House (Giles 1st) every Sunday night at 6 pm, so be there if you love metal.
There have been a few new updates. A month ago or so, a review of Dream Theater was posted on the Features page, as well as some new pictures. The first one is a practice that Eric Yttri follows. The next is Chris spankin' the ol monkey. And the last one is a nice stereotypical metal pic.
Enjoy and rock out to the max.
AND SIGN THE DAMN GUESTBOOK!
P.S. I won't be doing another update after May 7th until classes start back again. I'm spending six weeks in Italy this summer, and the rest of the months of break will be spent working. I need the money. If you'd like to donate to the cause, don't hesitate to visit my site, Division-2.

Welcome to the William and Mary Metal Club. Right now, we're still working on building a great new site from scratch as well as providing you the most current info on the club that rocks out with your respective sexual organ out. Bear with us as the coming weeks promise new changes, and, well, promising features. If you're lucky, we may have some pictures and a member list up by the weekend. If you really want these, send an email to El Presidente Eric Yttri.
Got a personal Webpage? Already set up your free student account? Want to put a mini-banner link to Metal Club on yours? Here's the code. Just cut and paste.
