About the Orchestra

Now entering its 83rd season, the William & Mary Symphony Orchestra is comprised of undergraduate, graduate and community musicians of the College of William & Mary. Its mission is to grow through the performance of great orchestral literature and to contribute to the artistic community of the College and beyond. Learn more...

Our annual raffle fundraiser will take place on May 1st at our final concert of the season. Raffle iterms include gift cards to Food for Thought, Paul's Deli, Mermaid Books, and more! Tickets will be sold for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.

Auditions are held every year during the first week of classes. Required excerpts and a solo piece of about two minutes are to be prepared for the audition. Find more information on our Audition page.

Giving Back

When you give to WMSO, you contribute to the growth and success of more than 50 musicians. The orchestra consistently uses funds to rent or purchase music, buy or repair instruments, hold sectional rehearsals with professional musicians from Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and to subsidize the annual tour where the orchestra both performs its own concert and watches a professional orchestra concert.
