Audition Information

Membership in the William & Mary Symphony Orchestra is open by audition to all members of the William & Mary community. All new and returning members are required to audition.

Sign-up sheets will be available on the Orchestra Board next to Ewell Room 207 starting Friday, August 23.

Audition locations will be posted with the sign-up sheets.

Each audition will last no more than 10 minutes and consist of:

• A short selection of a solo work for your instrument (sonata, concerto, etude, etc.).
  
• Orchestral excerpts for your instrument, posted as PDFs on the left side of the screen.
• One short excerpt on an auxiliary instrument if there is no excerpt for it posted on the left (e.g. english horn, bass/E-flat clarinet, mallet percussion, piano, harp).

Everyone is strongly encouraged to become familiar with the works excerpted. Showing, through your playing, that you are knowledgeable about these pieces will produce a better audition.
