Renaissance dancing is crazy fun, not only because, well, it's dancing, but also because quite a few dances are also games-- for instance, the Maltese Bransle, in which the dancers try to move faster than the musicians can play, or the Tangle Bransle, which is a bit like a massive game of Twister. We dance during our Monday meetings, generally about once a month, and at events, learning primarily English country and Italian Renaissance dances. Don't worry about bringing a partner, and no experience is necessary. If you can walk forward, walk backward, shuffle sideways, and turn around in a circle, you'll be fine. Contact our dance mistress with any questions :) This is the recognized website for the College of Rencester of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. and is maintained by the Rencester Web Minister.
