WMAS NEWSLETTER #4

September 19, 1998

We have a Winner!
The answers to last week's QTQ are as follows:

HARD: If the Sailor Senchi were trapped in a cave, which one would they eat first? – Sailor Moon
EASY: Who’s sexier: Lilith or Morrigan? - Morrigan

Congratulations to Tina Liu for getting the easy question correct. Check the bottom of this newsletter for more questions. Remember, trivia winners get ot be on the web page when we update it!

Last night's meeting was a ton of fun. We saw the next installments of Slayers and El-Hazard, and we also watched the first episode of Key the Metal Idol. If you're interested in procuring a baseball cap with the "Pizza Shock" logo on it, just like Sakura, you can find them at http://www.j-pop.com/key/index.html.

Hopefully the web page will be updated soon, adding an HTML form for movie selection, although no schedule is set for the production of the first deathmatch. As we figure out what we're doing, we'll keep you informed.

Oh, and we still have the rain jacket that someone left two meetings ago. It does get rainy around here; does the owner want it back? I have enough rain jackets as is, so please claim it.

Anyway, the meeting's next week in Blair 223, Friday at seven PM. Come on back and see some more stuff.

            - Ben

PS - Sorry about the duplicate transmit stuff, but some people can't read HTML.

This Week's Quasi-Trivia Question:

I've already told you the easy question already (but hey, it's the easy question). Now let's see if anyone can answer the hard question this time.

HARD: How many Suzaku seishi does it take to screw in a light bulb?

EASY: Who’s sexier: Goku or Vegita?

HINTS: Suzaku is a phoenix god from the series Fushigi Yuugi, which Pioneer is releasing here in America although they had absolutely nothing to do with it in Japan. Suzaku has seven warriors, or seishi, whose job is to guard the priestess of Suzaku. As far as I can tell, the priestess is always some unfortunate schoolgirl who gets sucked into the wrong dimension.
Goku and Vegita are Saiyans, a warlike species from the anime Dragon Ball Z. They are both human-looking, although Vegita has bigger hair and an armored battlesuit and Goku is obsessed with food and taller.

Next Week's Showings:

Well, we're going to bring more Slayers next week, as the club has been watching it every week since the beginning. We'll also bring all the other stuff we've watched at least once, plus some new stuff that has yet to be determined. Hopefully we'll be able to get the voting form up within two weeks (that's all you, Kevin).

Web Sites of the Week:

http://www.pierrot.co.jp/ - This is Studio Pierrot’s website. It is in Japanese, so you’ll need a character reader. It also uses Flash 3 for most of its menus, so if you haven’t gotten it yet, do so. These guys did Fushigi Yuugi and Key the Metal Idol. It's a cool page.

http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/6919/ -The Elite Sailor Shrine. It’s a list of a lot of Sailor Moon stuff. If you like that, here it is.

http://members.aol.com/PrkthePppt/cabbit.html – It’s a member’s page, mostly dedicated to Tenchi Muyo. Check it out. Support our members.

http://www.anime-int.com/bgc/index.html - This is AIC's new Bubblegum Crisis page. Some people asked to see the link again.

Contacting Me:

Please e-mail me at section06@hotmail.com. You can, of course, reply to this message. Please feel free to give me all yourquestions, comments, suggestions, and criticism. I do not mind questions asking me to explain references I've made. If you want to get off of this list, you should probably e-mail me, although I'd hate to let you go. If you leave, there's a 50% chance Shrodinger's cat will die. If you need to speak to me personally, call X6232, except I'll be out until Wednesday this week.
