"Who's sexier: Anthrathrax (dark god from the series Bastard!) or Shabranigdo (dark god from the series Slayers)?"
(not an actual QTQ)

Dear Members,
Hi. We had a couple hitches last meeting due to our Fearless Leader's mysterious disappearance, but fortunately the tapes had already been transferred and we managed to do well. I decided that the rain jacket, not having been claimed, should be returned to the area in which it was taken, and now I am freed from its curse. If it was yours, check with the lost and found or whatever deals with stuff left in Blair.

Next week there will be a quorum, so there will be a meeting despite Neko-con taking the Tetrarchs of the club away. I will give Craig or someone very similar to Craig the tapes (I need you to reply to this within three days, Craig, or I'll have to punt) so things can move on. There will definitely be some 3X3 Eyes in there, not to mention Key the Metal Idol, those being the big requests last time. Kevin has yet to show me this form stuff, but eventually he will, and then finally the website will allow us to choose videos before the meetings. The president will work out the details when it's ready.

Next week is Neko-con, which is fabulously exciting and we'd all love to cram you into someone's car so you can go. At the door, the fee is $35, which is pretty reasonable, but if you you are interested and suffer from financial hardship I'll see what I (the President and the club coffers are impoverished; any help will be mine) can do for you. Send me an e-mail for more info.

Unfortunately, as a side effect of Aaron's vanishing for the weekend we were unable to get pictures from the website, so the picture taking will be done two weeks from now when we all get back from Neko-con and whatnot. Be there, or we'll use instead of your picture with an anime character who is known far and wide for something hilarious.

Speaking of hilarity, would anybody be interested in a (totally non-serious) RPG simulation of an anime series? If so, tell me which series you might be interested in participating in (as a main character, of course; this is supposed to be easy and fun), and I'll cook up the stats. I have a sizable collection of material here, so things will work out.

Also on a new activities note, if we were to show some anime movies (ones without series or ones too darned long to show in the club normally), when would you like to watch them? We've had some requests to see X and some other stuff. Your input is, as always, treasured.

Next week's meeting should be in either Blair 223 or Blair 205 at 7 PM, and I'll let you know beforehand whether the sound is working in the traditional room. If you know somewhere absolutely perfect for us to be on the 20th of November, do not hesitate to tell us, as WMHSMUN will monopolize that space then.
- Ben

This Week's Quasi-Trivia Question:

Last week's questions (provided here with answers) were:

HARD: How many Suzaku seishi does it take to screw in a light bulb?
ANSWER: Seven with Four Gods Sky and Earth, fewer without, but it's harder. Congratulations to Jill Kallman for getting this one right.

EASY: Who’s sexier: Goku or Vegita?
ANSWER: Vegita. Nobody got this one right, or at least nobody submitted the right answer. As for questions concerning who the judges are, I make up the questions, and then Aaron and I argue about the answers. Plus, we consult a fourth-dimensional energy being named G'xqlx.

Anyway, this week's easy and hard questions may be harder and easier, respectively, than they usually are, but we're having trouble coming up with good hard questions. This will be the last newsletter with a "who's sexier" easy question, and no, it does not involve the personal sexiness of the judges (even G'xqlx), despite rumors to the contrary spread by certain forces in the club.

HARD: Which Knight Saber experiences the highest number of face-exposing helmet breakages?

EASY: Who’s sexier: Ranma (girl) or Ranma (boy)?

HINTS: The Knight Sabers are the four battle-suited women from Bubblegum Crisis. They fight evil in robotic suits that seem to be very fragile around the faceplate area. Ranma is the title character from Ranma 1/2, which describes his hilarious predicament: when splashed with cold water, Ranma changes from teenage boy to teenage girl. When splashed with hot water, he changes back. Ranma pictures are easy to find on www.anipike.com.

Web Sites of the Week:

http://www.guardiansorder.on.ca/ - These guys make both a multi-genre anime roleplaying game, Big Eyes, Small Mouth, and they also have just released a Sailor Moon RPG. I kid you not. Check it out.

http://www.talsorian.com/bgc.html - While I'm on a roll, this is R. Talsorian Games' Bubblegum Crisis roleplaying game site.

http://www.viz.com/ - these are the people responsible for giving us Key. They also have yucky MIDI on most of their pages, so turn off your speakers when accessing this site.

Contacting Me:

Please e-mail me at section06@hotmail.com. You can, of course, reply to this message, which is a different address. Please feel free to give me all your questions, comments, suggestions, and criticism. I do not mind questions asking me to explain references I've made. If you want to get off of this list, you should probably e-mail me, although I'd hate to let you go. If you leave, you may release the Dark Lord Shabradigno. If you need to speak to me personally, call X6232, except I'll be out Wednesday this week.
