WMAS NEWSLETTER #11

    better late than never

"If you weren't shorter and didn't have orange skin, I'd say he was better looking than you."
    - from today's Dragon Ball Z, we swear.

    Battle Lacrosse next club meeting!

No, seriously, we saw Daiundoukai last time, so we're not going to mention it until we get some more, which Pioneer has just started to release on video. Speaking of releases, AnimEigo has just put Bubblegum Crisis on DVD, in case you have one and must have the series. And today's Sailor Moon series ending on the Cartoon Network really wasn't very good, in my opinion. But then again, I was rooting for the Doom Tree woman to hook up with the guy who would be Tuxedo Mask, as she has more charisma than Usagi. Aaron agrees with me, but his reasoning is that if Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask don't get together, Chibi Usa never gets born.
We're also totally out of subtitled Key, but we do have some stuff in Japanese (with convenient Traditional Chinese subtitles) for those who just can't wait. It won't be shown in the club, but you can ask us. Since we watch Slayers every week, we should probably get to the movie by the end of the season. As for other stuff, we have some ideas. You will have to wait and see.
Our member who left his sweat jacket got it back, so we were spared having to return it to the Dark. Speaking of the Dark and those who dwell there, please refrain from making sexual innuendos every four seconds. If you don't like it, don't vote it in next time. Otherwise, we'll have to sic Vrumugun on you.
Next week's meeting should be in Blair 223, seven PM Friday. It will be fun. You will come.

This Week's Quasi-Trivia Question:

Last week's answers:
HARD: Vegita likes Bulma when she talks dirty to him.
EASY: Sakura can't even figure out if Tora exists. She's dumber. Mayuko at least brings him hamburgers.

This week's questions:

HARD: What is the name of the girl on our website?
EASY: Better hair ribbons: Miyaka or Vampire Princess Miyu?

HINTS: This week's hard question is to name the website girl. Better give us some good responses, folks.
Miyaka is the protagonist of Fushigi Yuugi, or Mysterious Play, depending on whether you buy the dubbed or the subtitled version of the anime. She's dumb, but she has hair ribbons which keep her hair in a Chun-li style look most of the time. Miyu comes from the series that bears her name, and she has a trademark bun and braid combo with her hair ribbons.

Web Sites of the Week:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ - a source for all sorts of wacky info.

http://www.hakusensha.co.jp/karekano/ - GAINAX's new production. It's in Japanese, but that's OK for me.

Contacting Me:

Do whatever you want. Call me, e-mail me, shove knives with notes tied to them in my door, whatever. Still at X6232, and if you want off of this list I can do that too, but it may cost you your soul.
