WMAS Newsletter #17

"Revolutionary Girl Evangelion?  No, best not to go there."- suggestion of a series cross-over that should never be.

In Japan, Toyota announced its plans to build new energist-powered cars, starting with a family sedan known as the Corrollaflowne.  Energist-powered vehicles are able to run indefinitely with no stops needed for fuel.  On the down side, over-heating an energist will result in the total disintegration of the vehicle and new owners will have to travel to another world to slay a dragon in order to get the parts necessary to start their new car.

In local news, the dinner at Hayashi Japanese Restaurant was very enjoyable for those six souls that made it there.  Ted is still recovering from his punishment from last meeting for not turning in his bio. *Hint, hint: Please turn in your bios to Aaron*

Last meeting we watched Fushigi Yuugi, Escaflowne, and Utena.  The current selection of videos has been temporarily transferred to Tina (kind of like the Matrix being given to Ultra Magnus for most of Transformers the Movie.)  And so, the usual selection of anime will be available to everyone who isn't heading off to Arlington for Katsucon 5.

For those of you heading out to Katsucon 5, we will be leaving at 3 PM on Friday.  Meet at Preston 316 so as not to be left behind (Mike, this goes double for you!)  Preston is across from Dupont (you know... the freshman dorm with Air Conditioning....  Mike, this also goes double for you!)  It is the building in the Randolph Complex that is closest to the road and furthest from the Caf.  Preston 3rd floor is also the Japanese house, so if you wander around reciting your favorite anime line, someone will eventually take you there.

Quasi-Trivia Questions:

Last Week's Answers
Easy Question: Ranma.  Come on, it was obvious, wasn't it?

Hard question:  Scooby-snacks.  This answer was provided by Jillian who has secretly been producing her own personal pokemon food.

This Week's Questions:
Easy Question:  Which Anime animal is cuter, Chu-chu from Utena or Ryo-oh-ki from Tench-muyo?

Hard Question:  Which series has the most hentai fan-fiction written profaning its characters?

Hint:  Everyone should by now have seen Chu-chu from Utena.  Ryo-oh-ki is the half-cat, half-rabbit on Tenchi-Muyo known as a cabbit.  For the perpetually innocent, hentai is "adult" anime.

Personal Note:

Because Tina will be the only officer at the next meeting on Friday the 12th, all Quasi-Trivia questions must be relayed to Tina.  Do not, I repeat, do not reply to this message.  If you do, Rob will put you on his hit list and assault you with a tripod.
