WMAS Newsletter #21

" After that point, you must return the weapon to the dead player."

from Rules for Killer Spring '99 - "The Grudge Match"

Yesterday, the Student Assembly announced plans to establish a dueling society, in which participants are required to knock a clump of crabgrass off their opponents lapel.  Fights are to be fought in the huge floating castle suspended above the Wren Building.  Construction of the castle is expected to be completed by 3228 AD, assuming continuing support from college alumni.  Debates are still raging over who has to have a sword drawn out of their chest for fight.

Last Friday, we watched Vision of Escaflowne, 3x3 Eyes Part Two, and the eminently bizarre Combustible Campus Gaurdress.  Game hour will begin at six o' clock and will be featuring a series of Square fighting games.

Finally, Tina now has all four Escaflowne soundtracks.  Again, I don't know why she wanted me to mention it, but I'm still too scared to resist.

Quasi-Trivia Questions:

Last Week's Answers
Easy Question: Scrambled.  The Utena world is already hard-boiled.

Hard question:  Ben didn't really go to Japan, he's a doppelganger, and now he looks like Robbie.  Robbie is Ben, why else would he volunteer to write the newsletter.

This Week's Questions:
Easy Question:  Place them in ascending order of scruffiness:  Fujisawa-sensei from El Hazard!, Dryden from Escaflowne, and Ryoji Kaji from Evangelion.

Hard Question:  How many arrows were in Duke Freid's body when he died?

Hint: Fujisawa-sensei is the sake-swilling teacher of El-Hazard, Dryden is the manic merchant of Escaflowne, and Ryoji Kaji is the casually-dressed casanova of Evangelion.  Duke Freid is, well, he's had a bad day.  After finding out that his is not his own and having his kingdom destroyed, Freid becomes the latest arrow fodder in Vision of Escaflowne.

Web Sites of the Week:
