Message from that Guy

Hey Club members!  First things first.  We will have a meeting on Friday.  It will be somewhere.  I'm assuming Blair 205, but if not we'll try to give you 24 hours notice. Is that cool with everyone?

Second, the Raalgon weren't very good at scanning.  The Soyokaze is a big metal object with serious displacement and turbulence.  Using various scanning techniques, such as checking gas red shift, radar, and lasers, a large object could easily be found.  Even with a nebula in the way.  Or, as everyone else was saying, "look out the window."

Raalgon ships, by the way, seem to be made out of bioceramics.  That's why they can shatter when hit by the Soyokaze.

Finally, I'm hoping that at this very moment Aaron is photocopying parts of my manga for an activity we've been thinking of next semester.  It'll be dramatic manga reading--in translation!  I know some of you out there are dying to do/see this, and we're going to accommodate you.  If you want to be a voice, like for Lemures, reply to this e-mail and you'll be called upon in two months to serve.

Tina's Corner
For our last official meeting of the week, we watched Maze, Irresponsible Captain Tylor, and Berserk.  We saw the male version of Sailormoon, Usagi as a porn star, and various other interesting things such as a drunk Yamamoto.  Next week we will be holding a movie night in BLR 205.  If you have any Anime movies, bring them to the meeting and we'll put them up for auc . . . I mean to be voted on.  Dubbed, subbed, or even none of the above, just bring them.  So long as it is Anime.  No, we're not watching that.

But just in case I don't get a chance to say it before anyone leaves, I hope everyone enjoys your winter break and we will see you next semester where we will have more, and more interesting things to do.  If you thought the club was fun this semester, just wait til we show you what we have in store for you next semester.  *grins*

Happy, Happy >(*_*)< Time

Here's the deal with Katsucon folks.  The people I have signed up to register are:
Julie V-wig
Kara Husson
King Chan
Ann-Ruffin Minarik
Sara Alexander
Mike Canada
Benjamin Cooper
Adam Gieseler

Now, if you'd like to register with the group for Katsucon or to be taken of the list, you have to tell me before Sunday the 12th.  I plan to send out the registration on Monday at which point I will be holding people responsible for paying the $30 registration fee.  I'm not going to really get on people's cases for money until after break.  But, I will most certainly not complain if I get it earlier.  I do have Christmas shopping to do.  ^_^

On another note, I need to get the names, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers of people who want to do cosplay.  Please tell me before Sunday, we should probably try to touch base before we leave.  That way, we can do whatever shopping for props and costume materials over break.  I know that I'm headed to DC's Chinatown.

That should cover Katsucon stuff.  I'll stop bending your ear and wish you a Happy Holiday and good luck on those exams.

And now the long-forthcoming section in iambic pentameter.

Before I begin my newsletter section
I would like to disavow knowledge
of several photos I know will be seen.
Now, it has been a very good semester.
The club is getting more and more collective.
We're friends and comrades more than 'ere before.
...
Okay, that'll do.  This one goes out to Julie Vichveg [sic].

It's been a lot of fun and am looking forward to next semester.  We're already making plans for Katsucon and are making a number of delightful plans for the coming months.  I'm also happy to announce that Christina will hopefully have the T-shirt design done before too long, provided that everyone gives me their avatar's identity.  Try to get it to me ASAP.  Send it to me directly and e-mail me if you come up with something late... I have a hotmail address, so any time works.  Have a great holiday and see y'all soon.
