"Throw an apple at a mermaid, two dollars."
- Ben

"I now live my life by Hime-chan."
- Aaron

"They're so young...but it's so cute..."
- Jillian on CLAMP's romantic pairing of an 11-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl.

"Parallel, parallel, become Unicron!"
"Parallel, parallel, become Zeiram!"
"Parallel, parallel, become Takada Yumi!"
"Parallel, parallel, become Griffith!"
"Parallel, parallel, become Joe Mama!"
"Parallel, parallel, become Baal!"
- from the cut episodes of Hime-chan's Ribbon

"No, hopefully we'll both freeze to death at the same time."
- Ben, once again showing what a hopeless romantic he is.

"Where'd you get that stick, Etoh?"
"None of your damn business, Parn."

"You are so lucky I don't have psychokinetic powers. I probably wouldn't kill you, but I would set your clothes on fire."
- Ben

"Deedlit...everybody's watching..."
- Parn

"I look like a fatima with these shoulders."
- Ben

"The really cool part is, when you drive through the midgets get angry, and then they shoot at you."
- Jillian's sister Amy

"I don't know, Ben, I think these Slim Jims are pretty Jew-friendly."
- Aaron

"Feel wide. Enjoy. Now get off this thing."
- Rob

"Stop it. I'm getting psychosomatic."
- Ben

"How does your mind work? I mean, how do you function?"
- Aaron

"My friend voiced Sigfried von Mittgard, and he was the Regent of Darkness."
- Crispin Freeman

"I don't think we have enough time to break his will."
- Ben

"They say anyone can be brainwashed in seventy-two hours."
- Banba from the film Angel Dust, which is not anime.

"Dodge all the teacups! Dodge all the teacups!"
- Tina

"We can't pay her a buck per picture for dwarf porn."
"Fifty cents."
"But-"
"They're half size."
- Ben and Rob

"What are you doing to my boyfriend?"
"The same thing I do to your mom."
- Tina and Rob

"I can see Jesus protecting Mary Magdalen from the T-1000."
"Blasphemy reaches new levels."
- Aaron and Ben

"I'm pretty sure this has something to do with Crystal Future Tokyo."
- Rob

"Where's your god now, Misato?"
- Aaron

"Meanwhile, I'll shine a light on you and take erotic pictures."
- Rob

"I got a bonus for not getting any."
- Aaron's friend Alex

"Maybe I can jet across the street here, jump the curb, and go into the Wendy's. You know, drive through."
- Aaron

"How many lymph nodes do you need -- oh bugger."
- Rob

"But what about Fianna?"
"What Fianna doesn't know won't hurt her."
- Etoh and Deedlit

"Not only can we make a kipah, we can make matching Etoh underpants."
- Rob

"And that's how Lina Inverse performs a bris!"
- Ben

"You're not representing love and justice. You're just an asshole throwing roses."
- Rob

"Scottish Jews forever!"
- Ben, Rob, and Aaron. Why? Plague all fear! Plague all fear!

"I suggest you eat one of the pulsating ones. They're the best."
- Aaron

"I looked down, and I was like, 'Oooh, floor.'"
- Tina

Message from That Guy
Okay, very funny. Now bring back my vacation.
I've had two official meetings of being That Guy, and I still haven't figured out what's supposed to be written here. I guess that means I can go on writing what I want to, yeah? Boy, I love captive audiences.

If anyone's interested, Tom and I will be going up to Anime Central during the 12-14 May. Among the guests will be the original artists for Record of Lodoss War and Saber Marionette J, as well as Crispin Freeman (the American Tylor/Zelgadis/Touga) and some people from Studio Ironcat and White Radish (including me). I'll be taking pictures and getting autographs and things from the GOHs ... or you could be cool and come along yourself. The site is http://www.acen.org

At any rate, that's all for this week. Tune in next week when I'll be divulging the secret lives of the CLAMP kids during their sordid weekend in Vegas. Or not. I wanna go home.

Death to the Opponents of the Ruling Council
Hey folks! I seem to write myself into bizarre outfits, so I was Etoh for the convention, and I don't want to sound too negative, but Animazement kinda sucked. The cosplay was sort of disappointing, but I won't harp on it except that we gave a very nice non-competing sketch in front of seriously bad microphones. All you need to know is that Etoh costumes can be had in two days with minimal effort. I did buy Gasaraki stuff in bulk, as did Rob and Aaron, so now you can all be forced to play a cool Japanese mech game. We got the manga, too, but we ain't getting the videos 'cause ADV Films has them.

We also had a lot of fun chatting in the car, in which we descended to such pits of wrong that our souls may be irrevocably stained. Plague all fear. No, I'm not explaining that.
And...we're going to be working on the webpage in the near future. Any suggestions? It will unfortunately be straight HTML with a couple pictures, not the Flash masterpiece of yore, but hey--now it makes for some "lost civilization stuff. All recommendations will be entertained, but remember -- death by Raven for those who are flippant.

There will be Miyu, part five of it, again this week. Could more people show up this time? Really...

Tina's Realm of . . . Something or Another
Hey everybody! Back from Spring Break and ready for some Anime! For all those that were able to make it to the meeting on the Friday before break, we watched Five Star Stories, Sakura Taisen, and Cowboy Bebop. For those that haven't seen Five Star Stories, you have just missed one of the frilliest men in the world . . . really.

But in other news, I will be getting my Miyu costume in pretty soon! You all will see it sometime soon, and I will wear it for the Anime/Skiffy Dance. Remember folks, the dance is coming up on April Fool's Day. So get some costumes ready or some form of clothing cause this is a costume ball. But please wear clothes ^_^

P.S. Aaron, Tom, Julie... Tina want money.

Like the Wind, Like the >(*_*)<
After Animazement 2000, I have only one thing to say:  "Plague All Fear! Plague All Fear!" <twitch, twitch>  "Don't Eat at Stuckey's!  Ever!  Especially not while eating that many Slim Jims!  Oh, dear Lord!"  <twitch>  Okay, I'm better now.

What did I learn at Animazement?  Phil Lee, the guy organizing the cosplay, is a nice, if mildly incompetent fellow.  Conventions should not be held in hotels with tight hallways.  The Monkey likes to drink.  And if you dress like Tuxedo Mask, you have the ability to make teenage girls come dangerously close to swooning.  Not bad for a costume put together in less than a day.

With the passing of Animazement goes the last con that I plan to attend before the summer.  Which is a good thing.  I don't think I could afford another.  But, during the summer, we have Otakon (no it's not named after me, but maybe it should be.)  August 4-6, Otakon will be held in the Baltimore Convention Center.  If people are thinking of going, or want to do cosplay, music videos, or whatever, let me know.  More info can be found at www.otakon.com.

D. Michael Canada, Jr.'s Commune of Dancing Lobsters
Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good Spring Break. Mine was pretty good, but I'm thankful to be back in light of friends, kendo, and anime. A few minor gripes with video stores selling anime, however. No Cowboy Bebop 3 subtitled. This from a place that has had Miyuki-chan in Wonderland stocked every day for two years. Anyone not familiar with this series should note it is CLAMP, but does not fall into the sub-CLAMPs that have been previously categorized. Rather than Good CLAMP or Evil CLAMP, this series is more along the lines of Ambiguously Heterosexual CLAMP.

Moving on, not much to report here except I'm hoping you all show up for the meeting. There will be some library stuff, including Utena which is still devouring the minds and souls of several officers from before break. Until then.

Joe Mama's Smack Down of the Week:
Ninety seconds? There's nothing I can do to please a woman that takes only ninety seconds! Oh...wait...cosplay. Nope, that's still not enough time.

Poll Question:
Last Week: So, what do you think of Griffith now? Do you feel dirty?
100% - I feel dirty, very dirty.

This Week: Why does everyone love Tuxedo Mask? (and trust us, they do)

Quasi-Trivia Questions:
Last Week:
EASY - If the WMAS officers were Utena characters, who would be what character?
Touga - Ben, because of his luscious red locks.
Saionji - >(*_*)<, because of his sickly green ones.
Mickey - Mike, because he's just that slappable.
Nanami - Tina, because of her perverse admiration of Ben.
Jury - Kara, because she's a lesbian couple.
Dios - Joe Mama. Do you really have to ask?

HARD - In a fight between Male Maze (a.k.a. Akira) and Tetsuo (from "Akira"), who would win? While Maze has that certain je ne sais quois Tetsuo is just a hideous blob of destruction. Sorry Mil.

This Week:
EASY - Better for you: Stuckey's or Slim Jims?

HARD - If you were drunk would you make a pass at Ladios Sopp from Five Star Stories? Gender is not important, we learned this from the movie.  For more info on Sopp, look here: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Garden/5494/FSSCharacter.html

BONUS: Touga -- sick Gendo/Griffith cloning experiment or what?
