News From That Guy
There once was a girl from WMAS
Whose absence would be a great loss
So she took extra time
To write out his rhyme
Except here, where she just got lazy.

Welcome back to That Guy's Poetry Corner. Before we begin the angst, here's a recap of the stuff we watched last week:

REVOLUTIONARY GIRL UTENA: Utena duelled with Saionji twice, Saionji stepped on Chu-Chu, and Utena lit Touga's fire, which is apparently not very hard to do at all.
EL HAZARD: Makoto is Alielle's bitch.
LODOSS TV: Parn is still a tool. Also, a great deal of the OAV continuity no longer exists. But that's okay, because we have omake now. Or is that okama? I seem to get those two mixed up a lot.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I do. Oh, besides the Utena bad dub, "Dance Dance Revolution." If anyone's interested in techie stuff or voices, e-mail or call me at the address/number at the bottom of the e-mail. Go on. You know you want to.

Presidential Address
(please hum the Internationale, or "Hail to the Chief" here)

Heeeeey clubmembers! It's me, Ben the President. I'm in charge of very little, but here's what I am responsible for:

1. Satomi Hakkenden -- We read manga! The translation is available at http://chokinghazard.tripod.com/hakkenden/shak1.htm, I believe. If that doesn't work, http://chokinghazard.tripod.com should have a link. It will start somewhere around 6:30 PM, after Rob dresses up a statue.

2. Role-playing games -- I have an RPG in the works. Those people who are interested respond to this e-mail and clog Rob's mailbox. No, I'm not telling you what it's about.

And the rumors that I run the WMAS branch of Duklyon are completely untrue. The Cheese Shop does NOT house my staging area. And there is no Eva under the Sunken Gardens.

The One True >(*_*)<
Just so all of you know, there is an EVA under the Sunken Gardens and the reason you can't go into the Wren Building right now is because they are building a floating castle. Anyway, I don't have much to say right now, I will later, trust me. But, for now, if anyone's interested in a bit of silliness, I'm considering dressing up the statue of Thomas Jefferson up in my Tylor costume and taking a few pictures. For anyone whose interested in seeing this or taking pictures, I should be doing it a little bit before we start the manga reading at 6:30pm on Friday. It's funny the things we do when we're feeling absurd.

Tina's Corner

Hey folks! This is the Secretary/Treasurer here talking to you about what you love most . . . money! If you were at the first meeting, you already saw my introductory video, but just to remind you all, we do have member dues. The dues are $7.50 for the whole year and $5.00 per semester. I'll be there at the meeting this Friday so if you want to pay member dues, you can go ahead and pay me. If you are going to write a check, make the check payable to "Tina Liu."

Those that want to know why they should pay member dues, it's because we have a library that holds lots of Manga and Anime. The only way to access this library, is to pay your member dues, so if you want a good time, just pay me $7.50. ;)

Librarian's Lair of Perpetual Bewilderment
Hello, everyone! This is Mike, primary maintainer of the anime club library. Hope everyone had a great first meeting. It was one of our most enthusiastic in a while. Then again, considering we haven't had a meeting since... last semester...
...
Moving on, for all new members, the library is a pretty large collection of anime and manga, some of it domestically released, some fansubtitled (in the case of anime), and a lot of manga in its original Japanese (if you're interested but don't speak Japanese, we have access to a number of translation pages). So we have everything from current releases like Cowboy Bebop, classics like Fushigi Yuugi, and even some anime and manga artbooks. We're still getting the library organized for this year, but last year, we had well-over a hundred items--video tapes and books.

So in any case, I hope I see some of you around campus. If not, I'll see you at the next club meeting where I'll make slightly more of an effort to stay dry.
