>(*_*)<: "Well, for the quote this week, how about something that suggests that Parn and Kashue are gay?"
Ben: "But that's been done before.  How about Parn and Orson, now that's funny!"
Tina: "But who'd be pitcher and who'd be catcher?"
Ben: "How should I know."
>(*_*)<: "Mike, look up some Doujin on the net."
Mike: "Okay."
Kara:  "I know who did their voices."  (said in absentia)

News From That Guy (Imported)
Hallo, children. Due to idiocy on the part of the administration, I'm
half an hour away at the moment. But I expect to be at the next
meeting, provided hell doesn't freeze over between now and then.

According to what I've been told, you watched the following last week:
Utena (Nanami sleeps with her brother), El Hazard (Alielle sleeps with
anything female), and Lodoss TV (Parn sleeps with the knowledge that he
is nothing more than a tool). Again, I wish I could have been there,
considering I'm crutch-less and can get around without tripping people.

On a semi-related note. Those of you who saw Utena this week saw the
episode that we're hoping to parody dub, "On the Night of the Ball."
We're renaming it "Dance Dance Revolution." Again, if you want to help
with script, voices, or techie stuff, e-mail me at kdhuss@wm.edu, or
call me at x3148. Once things are orderly again, I'll get together with
all our witty scriptwriters and make a final script.

That's all for now, kiddies. Next week, I'll be back with an even more
frightening Nonexistent Fourth Video (if you thought "Fast Food Freedom
Fighters" was a trip, just wait 'til you see "Nosferatu.")

Presidential Address
Greetings. First things first; Satomi Hakkenden went quite well, despite a congenital inability on the part of EVERY person in the club to pronounce "Funamushi."  Repeat after me:  Foo-NA-moo-shee.  Foo-NA-moo-shee.  Are we ready for next time now?

So, the next production will be at 6:30, and we have space for many, many female parts this week and maybe two guys, fewer if Rob still wants to be Sosuke.  So come on down.  And remember: Shino swears like a sailor.  You will have to swear like a sailor to be her.  The script is at http://chokinhazard.tripod.com/hakkenden/shak2.htm .  Disappoint me not.

On that very subject, I got one e-mail saying that someone wanted to participate in my RPG.  Does no one care?  I plan on starting in October, but if I don't get any answers soon, I'll be recruiting from the usual pool of drunks and sociopaths that I always do, and then I'll feel bad about it.  Come on.  You know you want to. E-mail sigma@cs.wm.edu this time.

Being >(*_*)< Malkovich
I know we've only been here for a few weeks or so, but Convention time is creeping up on us.  Specifically, Nekocon 3 (http://www.nekocon.org) on October 27-29 in Chesapeake, VA.  Nekocon is one of the smallest cons in the area and, therefore, tends to be the fan-friendliest and the easiest to get around.  Registration rates are currently $35, but they're offering a group rate of $30 per person for groups of 5 or more.  Rooms are $72 per night, a figure that feels significantly reduced once you stuff enough people in one room.  I'll be bringing a sign-up sheet on Friday so that we can figure out who's interested, how many cars and hotel rooms we need, etc.  Also, if you're planning on going and want to do the cosplay with us, indicate that on the sign-up sheet so that we can start organizing a few skit creation meetings.

And, yes.  I intend to make Thomas Jefferson look funny this week.  At 6:15pm, I'm either going to throw him into the role of Etoh from Record of Lodoss War or Sagara Sanosuke from Rurouni Kenshin.  Hope to see you there.

Tina's Corner on Fifth and Main
Hello everyone!  How are all my beautiful people out there?  Thanks for all those that were ready with money on Friday for member dues.  You guys are great!  I'm still collecting money if you are interested in having access to our ever expansive library of Anime.  And I'll also be accepting any money that anyone just wants to give me :)
Just to let you all know, I'm going to abstain from what I did last year and I will not whore myself for the club . . . that's Joe Mama's job.  Thank you.

Librarian's Lair of Land-roaming Trout
Hey everyone!  Well, after much delay, the library is all more-or less centralized now and as I write this, being catalogued.  I should have a working list ready by next meeting.  If any librarians from last year can dig up anything that wasn't returned at the end of the semester, please return it ASAP--we lost track of where a few things were over the summer, so a few items might be in limbo (the Land of Lost Socks).  So moving on, the rules have been simplied from last year due to a lot of experience.

1.  A person can have no more than 4 items checked out at a time.
2.  An item is due back no later than midnight a week after its check-out date.  Last year there was a late fee in the rules, but it was never implemented even when items were late.  So we're doing away with that, but giving a warning--anyone who tends to keep things late should expect a visitation someday from Joe Mama, our enforcer.  He doesn't waste ammo.  Too much, that is.
3.  If you accidentally lose or destroy an item, tell me and we'll discuss possible recompense.  Some items in the library are fairly mportant to us while others are just sorta... there.
4.  If you purposefully lose or destroy a library item... well... see #2.

That about does it.  I've had one person so far volunteer to "donate" items to the library.  Does anyone else have an anime or manga colleciton they'd be willing to share?  This would basically just involve my putting the items on our list and then periodically having people ask to take something out.  It would be kept in your own rooms or wherever you want it.  Anyone interested who donated stuff last year?

Several items will be brought to each meeting (if we can handle it) along with the inventory in its entirety.  You can ask for me to bring something the following week.  Also, if you ever want to swing by Preston 316 (Japanese House), the library is maintained there.  We live to serve.  But we expect good tips.

Quasi-Trivia Questions
LAST WEEK:
POLL QUESTION:
Anime Poll: What was your first time like?  Shame on you for thinking the way you do.

EASY QUESTION: Chu-Chu: Mouse or Monkey?  Or shinma, or pokemon, or something much more sinister.

HARD QUESTION: Examine the moral implications of being Makoto Mizuhara.  No, that's a subject best left to personal reflection in a hot bath... on the woman's side.

THIS WEEK:
POLL QUESTION:  Who's your favorite Bugrom?  (It's okay to describe them by shape, color, or distinct odor.)

EASY QUESTION:  Orson:  Happy drunk or Angry drunk?

HARD QUESTION:  Gender, sexual preference, and aversion to green hair not withstanding, describe your dream date with Saionji.
