Presidential Address
Hello clubmembers!

Okay, here's the deal with Satomi Hakkenden: I'm gone again!  Don't blame me, and don't blame Providence, because he wants me to pray, and interfering with the Will is a good way to get swallowed up by the earth or hit by a truck.  Remember:  http://chokinghazard.tripod.com/hakkenden/shak5.htm is our script for this week.  I promise I'll have the sixth chapter translated by the end of next week; I've sort of been lazy for the past month or so.

As for the roleplaying game, I think I sent most people e-mail, but if not, start thinking really hard about turning those character concepts into mathematical concepts, as when I get back from the Jewish tradition, I will be moving as quickly as I can to get this game up and running.  You WILL be amused.

And you guys better get up on the cosplay, because I can't help you with the script otherwise.

All right.  Off to pray now.

>(^o^)<
And so, we slowly approach the beautiful crunch week before Fall Break.  I don't know about you guys, but I'm scheduled to be bent over and tooled royally by my classes.  On the brighter side, we should be getting all the cosplay stuff organized by then and dropping people lines on parts we'd like them to play.  As far as how much you'll have to do for yourself for your costume will depend on the nature of the costume.  If your costume has some easy to find parts, we'll probably expect you to find it.  For example, the Go Nagai Lion parts require only that the outfits be color-coordinated in typical Sentai fashion.  A few of us have already volunteered to do sewing and prop making for anything that's at all elaborate or hard-to-find.

In other news, because of the Busch Gardens thing tomorrow, I won't be dressing up TJ this week.  But, rest assured, it will be happening again.  Probably on Friday before Fall Break (a treat for all you kids that plan to stay in the 'Burg for a day just to see some more anime before going home.)  Also, once the webpage is fully revamped, we will be posting up said silly pictures of TJ.

Nnyyarrr!  Mew mew mew mew!  ^_^  Watashi-wa kawaii desu-ne?  I love cabbits!  They're cute!

Ok, enough of the cute meow stuff, now I have to tell you all something informative and relating to my position.  I have all your money, I will spend all your money, you will have no more money after I get through with it :)  But just to let you all know what's to come, thinking about having a Kyoto Japanese Steak House dinner the Saturday before Thanksgiving where all those who paid member dues get $5 off their meal, courtesy of Anime Club.  Then I spend all your money :)

Mike's Hot and Sweaty
Hey everyone!  been a fairly lazy week around here, but club's about to roll around again.  The cosplay brainstorming session seemed to be a big success though I couldn't stay for all of it.  Aside from that, having just seen End of Eva again... well... I'm having fewer flashbacks...

Moving on, make sure to check out the library when you get a chance, or feel free to stop by Preston anytime--you'll probably find someone up and about.

Quasi-Trivia Questions
LAST WEEK:
POLL QUESTION: What were you doing when you were Daisaku's age? (And no, I don't think it was controlling Giant Robo.)  Going through puberty, not wearing culottes, and still not getting hit on as much as he is.

EASY QUESTION: When did calling Giant Robo, "Giant Bobo" stop being funny?  Right about the time the joke was first made in '72.

HARD QUESTION: Analyze Anthy Himemiya in the psychological style of your choosing. (No Tom, you may not use any of Freud's psychosexual models of the mind.)  Well, according to Dr. Frasier Crane....

THIS WEEK:
POLL QUESTION: What would you wear on board a space garbage collection scow?

EASY QUESTION: Better death: the kitten from Utena or the little girl from Memories?

HARD QUESTION: What will Parn do once he finds out that Deedlit is really a man?  (Oops, spoiler!  Sorry!)
