The Democratic Party of Japan
led by the charismatic Makoto Mizuhara has placed a challenge to the recent
election of Katshiko Jinnai to the office of Prime Minister by a narrow
coaliton of Jinnai's Liberal Democratic Party and the influential Bugrom
Party. Mizuhara not only alleges wide-spread corruption within the
LDP and the voting process, but also challenges the weight of the Bugrom
vote. "As the Bugrom are a Hive Mind, slavishly following their vinyl-clad
queen, they should count as a much smaller percentage because unlike humans,
they have no free will to choose how to vote," said Nanami Jinnai, another
member of Mizuhara's Democratic Party. Representative Katsuo Bugrom
of the Kanto District responded with: "Mwrm mwrm mwrm.... mwrm Mrwm mwrm.
[shaking fist] mrwm mrwm [left antennae twitch] Mrwm." The Supreme
Court is looking into the issue.

The parody dub is almost finished! The last scene is being mixed,
and we hope to finish things off this weekend. If all goes according
to plan, castmembers will see the video early next week, and it will be
debuted in club a week from today. Otherwise, it will definitely be
ready for Katsucon. For those interested, we do indeed have Tristan
MacAvery (the American voice of Gendo) doing a cameo in the latter part
of the episode!
In other news, before we put in the order for the T-shirts, we want to verify
that no one else wants one. As the more people order, the cheaper
they get (bulk prices), the individual price will vary depending on the
total number of orderers. So far, they will be around 6 - 7 dollars.
Meeting after next, barring further delays, we will try to collect money.
As for Katsucon, housing assigments are nearly finished, but we need to
know who has vehicles and driving skills that they are willing to offer
up for the benefit of the club. The current list is:

We need to know for sure if you are able to drive people to and from Katsucon
as well as between the convention and the house you are assigned to stay
at. In other words, is your car here at campus and, if not, can it
be in time to get people to Katsucon and back.
