EXCERPTS FROM ASHRAM'S SPEECH AT THE GRAVEYARD AT KANON

Four score and seven episodes ago, our forebears set sail from Marmo, most cursed of islands, conceiving that on the mainland of Lodoss, one could finally find a place where all metahumans would be created equal, that troll, elf, dark elf, man, dwarf, grass runner, and those things, you know, with the tentacles and stuff that live in the rock outcroppings near Rood, could finally live in peace.

Now we are engaged in a great war, testing whether our nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle field of that war. We come to dedicate a portion of it, as a final resting place for those who died here and did not have high enough constitutions to be raised by clerics, that the nation might live. This we may, in all propriety do. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow, this ground -- The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have hallowed it, far above our poor power to add or detract barring a roll of a natural twenty. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here; while it can never forget what they did here.

Now top that speech Kashue.  I double dare you.

HISTORICAL NOTE -- King Kashue of Flaim responded only by making a pun of the term "magical sword," likening it to an obscure conjugation of the sentence "the duck crosses the river."

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW --

Manga reading!  Manga reading!  Hopefully I won't sleep until 2 PM this time round, so hopefully the accuracy will be better.

Anime/Skiffy Dance is approaching, for all of you who love to dance.  For those of you who don't, now's a good chance to learn to love to dance.  Don't force us to make you love dance!  It's in March; I've been told the 17th, but the actual date will be told to you by Tina or her proxy at the meeting.

T-Shirts will be paid for tomorrow.  Have something equal to or greater than $7.25 with you if you ordered one.

Poll Question:

LAST WEEK:
How would you make 30,000 friends? What would you do with them?
Well, the most obvious method is to sew them out of pieces of cadavers and use lightning to imbue their bodies with life.  But, maybe that's just me.  As for what to do with them?  Need we ask?  Stage Diving.

THIS WEEK:
Of all the friends you have had to shoot, how many had no live ammo in their guns when they came for you?

Quasi-Trivia Questions:

LAST WEEK:
Easy -- Obvious pickup line or not: "Hey, wanna come with me to an Amusement Park and deliver some roses? We can take my convertible and rent a hotel... <awkward pause> ...you know, in case we run late."  Yes, it is very obvious.  But when you look as good as Akio, girls will overlook anything.

Hard -- You are standing on Earth, looking North, on March 13th at midnight and see Unicron, the planet-devouring beast from Transformers the Movie, in the sky. It appears to be the same size as the moon. The next night, again at midnight and looking North, you see Unicron again and it is twice the size of the moon. How long before you die?  Don't worry.  Remember, no one ever actually dies, they just go to another dimension.

THIS WEEK:
Easy -- Will Spark make it to the Duel Called Revolution?

Hard -- When did Touga start to suck as a duellist?  He used to be so cool.
