The William and Mary Anime Society (WMASROCKEDNEKOCON) will be meeting this week, as usual at 7:00 pm on Friday in Tyler 336. Sadly, there will be no Dance-Dance Revolution at 5:00. Hopefully the payoff for the lack of Dance-Dance will be Speaker-Speaker.
Chris beat Sonic Adventure 2. There was much rejoicing.
Con Report
The William and Mary Anime Society rocked NekoCon. Our Cosplay, Gilbert and Sullivan's Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, won the Best In Show award, beating out every other skit. We all rejoiced as we successfully spit in the eye of visual rock. We have a trophy, we are happy. It even made up for having to kill the chicken sketch people to eliminate their cosplay.
Also, props go to Shannon and Kara for their awesome karaoke skit, and the cosplay opening skit. Congratulations to Shannon for her excellent tuberculosis-inspired death.
There was also an excellent concert by Marii Ijima (Minmei from Macross) who seemed, very good-natured, and narrated in respectable English. It almost made us feel bad about slamming Minmei in our skit (especially after what Ijima said about despising Misa [Lisa] for getting Hikaru [Rick]). But we didn't feel that bad.
Sadly, the con ended in tragedy as light fixtures fell on innocent dancers and blood flowed freely in the men's bathroom. No, really, we're almost not lying.
Other highlights of the con included buying lots of stuff, watching videos (apparently Ebichu and Ping Pong Club were the most popular videos, we feel dirty) and the appearance of fetus man. Good cosplays included the Planeteers laying the smack down on Nanami and Vash vs. Wolfwood, including a cast of Starscream, Sephiroth, and Aeris running Sephiroth through with a sword. It made sense. Mostly.
As we drove away from the con, looking back, we could see the Holiday Inn going up in flames (an after-effect of the flaming rats) and faintly, on the wind, we could hear Marii Ijima singing "My Boyfriend is a Pilot." The catharsis was amazing.
That concluded our con experience.
People who owe us money
These people owe us money for registration/hotel fees. Please pay us, as we are an impoverished group who are running this club out of our pants. Please bring the money you owe to the next meeting and give it to Mich or Shannon.

Oops, spoiler alert. Anyway, he gets drawn into a war between heaven and hell, wacky hijinks ensue. Cosplayers invariably take it way too seriously.)
