"Ok, I think I just drank half that jug

of water... where's the bathroom?"

-Aaron

"I guess I got a little crazy."

"A little? You wanted to throw yourself

in to space you dumb ho!"

-Minmei and Aaron

"Yeah, I guess if I had to describe Minmei's

personality in one word, it would be

'fickle.' But if I had to do it in in two words

it would definitely be 'dumb ho.'"

-Chris

"Hmm, I'm not sure if "suckas" has a 'c'...

I wonder if its in the Oxford OED..."

-Rob

"That's what I need to do; go to Japan,

pick up a middle-schooler and get

into real estate."

-Aaron

Headlines

The William and Mary Anime Society (WMANDSOITBEGINS) will be meeting this week, as usual at 7:00 pm on Friday. This time we get our brand new, shiny room in Blair. Ok, so its not really new, and its not shiny, since that would just be distracting... but it IS a big improvement over our last room. The room is Blair 205. Come and see!

Wet T-Shirt contest:

Just as an annoying reminder which will appear here consistently until it is no longer relevant: The deadline for entries for the T-Shirt contest is February first (2/1/02).

Actually, we're not accepting wet T-Shirts. Dry T-Shirts ONLY people. We just wanted to make you look at this. Gotcha suckas.

Entry format: Each entry should consist of a written idea for what picture is going to look like. Include as detailed information as possible. Also provide a rough sample sketch of your entree, and an item of your previous work.

Metropolis

Metropolis, Not the 1927 German expressionist silent sci-fi film directed by Fritz Lang. Nothing to do with Nine Inch Nails. Metropolis is a movie coming to theaters next weekend. Its an Anime done by the same guy that did Astro Boy, Osamu Tezuka. For those of you who don't know, Osamu is the God of Anime. All that anime you watch? He started it all. Bow down suckas.

This is a small-release film, only showing in a few theaters. We want to get a contingent of people to go to DC and see it. If you're interested, send an email. We'll ask at the meeting too. Expenses include a ticket and maybe some gas. If we have to stay overnight, we can chill at Chris' house.

Remember... Its Osamu Tezuka, not Osama Bin Laden

See and support Anime in theaters!

Katsucon

Please notify Charles personally (cpnguy@wm.edu) if you want to Katsucon. Even if you didn't register with us, tell us. Even if you're not sure, tell us. Please include any special conditions, rooming preferences, leaving preferences, etc. We can't guarantee you'll get exactly what you want, but the earlier you send in info, the more likely you'll be to get what you want. This time Charles will be deciding everything. That includes who rides with who and when, who stays in what room, and who has keys.

No sex in the champagne room. Bad!

Web Site

Hey... we have a web site. What's more... we're gonna update it! Right now its out of date and covered with crap. But we're gonna update it soon. So tell us what you want on it. What do you, as WMAS members, want to see on the site? What would be helpful or entertaining to you? Reply and tell us what you want.

Aaron's survey.

Remember those surveys you filled out in Anime Club a few weeks ago? The ones for Aaron's class? Well... he left those at home. So everyone take a few minutes to fill it out again (or for the first time, for those who missed it) online at:

http://www.resnet.wm.edu/~adseig/survey.html

Shameless Plugs

FACES is happening soon. February first and second to be exact. There's gonna be lots of fun stuff there, including an Anime/Manga panel and a DDR tournament with lots of prizes. So come!

Chris is selling stuff, check out http://www.clickass.org/~shenron/sale

Trivial questions

Poll Question: Who is the "Shaft" of Anime, and why? (you know... Shaft... he's a complicated man...)

Easy Question: What didn't you get that you really wanted for Christmas (aka: How did Santa screw up this year?)

Hard Question: Retell Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" using characters from Evangelion.
