YEARLY SUMMARIES

2004-2005

We saw a lot of success in the 2004 to 2005 season. Our primary goal for this season was to spend all of our allotted budget money on competition without going over our budget. We began competing in the spring of 2005 with the Clemson Duals on Friday, January 22nd followed by the Southern Slam. We brought 7 wrestlers to both and every wrestler got at least 4 matches in the weekend, with 4 of the 7 wrestling 6 matches. Our final trip was to Catawba College for the Mid-Atlantic Conference Dual Team tournament. We ended up placing 3rd behind UNC Pembroke and Southern Virginia University.

Secondary goals included increased turnout to practice, stronger team unity, establishment of team traditions, increased administrative efficiency and a strong team to send to each competition. Each of these goals have been steadily improved upon during the 2004 to 2005 season.

We steadily had between 6 and 10 wrestlers at practices. Furthermore we sent at least 7 wrestlers to all competitions. In short, member turnout and participation gets steadier and stronger as we get involved in more competitions and as our organization gets more efficient.

Finally, over the last season our team and its officers have learned a great deal about running a team. We've got better budget management, more startup capital and better communication with members and conference teams. Furthermore, we've developed multi-media outlets including photos and DVDs of our competitive matches.
