Information/Dissemination of Effective Practices
Web Site - (www.wm.edu/ttac) Offers information about our staff, services provided, links to other sites, copies of newsletters, announcements of professional development opportunities, an interactive discussion board, our library holdings, and forms for requesting our services
Considerations Packets - Information packets prepared by T/TAC W&M staff provide a brief overview of current topics and best practices for serving students on the SOL curriculum (may be downloaded or ordered from our web site)
Training Modules and Videos - Materials on topics such as inclusion, instructional assessment, instructional support teams, paraprofessional roles and responsibilities, and effective schoolwide discipline
Newsletters (T/TAC Link Lines) - Published and distributed quarterly, contain best-practice techniques, listings of new library materials, transition news, and administrative tips (visit our web site to view newsletter issues and to be added to our mailing list)
Lending Library - Materials may be requested via telephone or from our web site, and are mailed at no cost with a self-addressed return envelope for easy return
Model Sites - Links to model sites in the instructional support team model, inclusive services, and effective schoolwide discipline (contact a specialist at T/TAC W&M for more information)
Consultations
Consultations are provided by phone, e-mail or through site visits
On-site visits provide a collaborative process to assist teams of professionals
in building their capacity to improve student outcomes
* Priority is given to schools in improvement
Additional facilitation activities include:
* Regional Communities of Practice
* Local planning team initiatives, both school-based and systemwide
Strategically Planned Workshops/Conferences/Communities of Practice
Workshops that support state and local initiatives and school improvement plans to provide access to the general education curriculum for students with disabilities
Long-term technical assistance that supports state priority project initiatives
NOTE: T-TAC Old Dominion University provides services for professional educators who work with children with developmental delays and disabilities (birth through age 9) and individuals with moderate to severe disabilities (birth through high school), as well as assistive technology.
