Statewide TAC System

T/TAC MISSION
The mission of Virginia's Training and Technical assistance Centers (T/TAC) is to improve educational opportunities and contribute to the success of children and youth with disabilities (birth - 22 years). The Centers provide quality training and technical assistance in response to local, regional, and state needs. T/TAC services increase the capacity of schools, school personnel, service providers, and families to meet the needs of children and youth.

The T/TACs meet these needs through activities such as:

• Consultation (phone, off-site, and on-site)
• Long-range planning
• Information services including periodic newsletters
• Presentations about T/TAC services
• Linking and networking resources together
• Referral to other services
• Lending library of multi-media resources and technology
• Workshop

Regions:

• Regions 2 & 3: William and Mary, Old Dominion University
• Region 4: George Mason University
• Region 5: James Madison University
• Regions 1 & 8: Virginia Commonwealth University
• Regions 6 & 7, Virginia Tech, Radford
